Hi friends,

For long haven't been in this DIR,
My question is to those who live in west,
is there any special celebration for GN Birthday? i've read that in India it takes two days starting a long preparation and complete recitation of the SGGS.

Is that the case in the west? and when will this year celebrate on wednesday or thursday?

Today i've tried to call few temples near by, but non answered, and i'd like to visit one on this special eve :)

so plz :help:

Complete n Continous recitation of SGGS is known as AKHAND PATH ,this year Gurpurab is on 28th Nov , so Akhand Path of SGGS will start on 26 th .Bhog (Completion )will be on 28th morning near about 10 am. m not sure about Germany :eek::D

I think a more important question is how should it be celebrated ... Sad but true that Sikhs r not using this to spread more awareness within Sikhs and non sikhs

I will be visiting my local gurdwara for the first time today. Took me weeks to actually prepare for the occasion but alas here it is.

Really excited to go! :D

Yes, i had the privilege sharing the people this happy event, even though i'm sure it's not comparable to one you do it over there :D

what i have noticed the attendancy even from those who decided to not follow the 5K's, but they were all at the event using the guests turbans like me :)

i was not at Amritsar this Gurpurab , but visited local Gurudwara , listened Gurbani while doing Sewa .
its Great to know about your visit , All were friendly there ? hw much time you spent there ?

its amazing to know White House is also celebrating Gurpurab .
