Does anybody know why it is that facial hair and hair on the head keeps growing longer and longer, but pubic hair and hair under the armpits only grows to a certain length and then apparently stops growing.

Probably due to the fact that most of the hair we do have has a function, and armpit and pubic hair is more for "lubrication" than for cold or sun protection. As we move our arms and legs, these parts of the body rub across each other and can cause irritation, so the hair serves almost like striated ball bearings. .

BTW, do you know why pubic hair is so short and curly?

I've always wondered about that... Just thought I'd ask in case somebody knows the answer

Must be a genetic defect relating to the evolution from imps to apes.
