My grandbaby is 2 and 1/2 Kai..My DIL is already uttering the words "maybe he is ADD"..Im sorry I am not saying do as I say not as I did..but I AM..I wanted to slap her!

He's not even 3..and he spends MANY hours with a t>V blaring..and not enough outside time..and just quiet one on one time with them.

Not to mention its called "terrible twos" for a REASON..Not for a diagnosis.

at one time i noticed lots and lots of kids being diagnosed with dyslexia too but that seems to have died off a bit.

and dont get me wrong i dont disbeleive these conditions exist, but "you cant kid a kidder" i was a really naughty kid and a lot to handle as a teenager and with a lot of people i know, its a cop out for plan old bad behaviour.

Im a mixture of "anxiety" panic attacked depressed manic nut ball.Sprinkled with PTSD..Oh and right now Im experiencing my periodic bout as an insomniac.The agoraphobia has gotten a lot bettter though..Ive moved on to hypo chondriac..because my blood pressure is 145/110 ...Oh well..

yeah..it can be a cop out for plain old bad behavior..or a convenient way for parents not to change some family dynamics (go in denial) that are messing with the kids heads and just diagnose them as chemiclaly embalanced.The bad behvior IOW can be just being naughty..it can also be the kids are actually distraught they need help and guidence not drugs.

Oh and dyslexia?My understanding is ALL children have dyslexia up to a certain age.Thats why for example a 5 or 6 year old (sometimes even older) will spell there names with backwards letters.Its developmental and they grow out of it..

Even though I never heard of children ever beign DRUGGED for dyslexia so I have a hard time comparing them.

Well thats because you have "severe jealousy disorder".Envy is the main symptom.That stems from your paranoia syndrome in which you have a hereditory predisposition to become addicted to believing you are insecure.

I think you should get some electro shock therapy and then take about 15 Zanix's a day and be normalized in no time..

I understand..and its true..sort of this sudden"reduction" in children being "diagnosed" with dyslexia is quite a miracle considering it used to be an epidemic.

Only reason I know its "normal" is one when my youngest child was tested for a learning difference they said he had dyslexia and my immediate reaction before they finished was "alarmed" they said his was in the "normal range" for his age.IOW they expect them to have dyslexia to some degree and its normal unless they do not develope out of it.

I've had this discussion with a former tenant who is a practicing psychologist. Her view is that having some symptoms does not necessarily rise to
the level of being clinically diagnosed. Teens often have a rough time of things, & dysfunctional responses can be normal...they grow out of it.

I love to case aspersions on vulnerable groups, but in this case I have to disagree. I just know too many shrinks who really help their patients, & too many
people who couldn't function without professional help. Btw, psychiatrists are physicians, & better able than anyone else to handle neurological disorders.
