I was under the impression that there were TWO options...life vs. death.
There's a question as to what constitutes 'life'. She may not have considered what she had 'life' for all anyone knows.

You know, it's sort of amazing people can't tell the difference between a child and someone whose brain is half the normal size and forever damaged and is being kept alive artifically for the greed of those who can't let go.

What I bolded is the crux of the matter. Our definitions differ and I will not allow people to die because they wanna. When life begins and ends is defined differently by us because we believe in a soul. As you already are aware.

And yes it's quite evident that catholic dogmas are not a source of your life.
Correct they aren`t as I`ve been deeply involved in many lives that did use catholic dogma as a source.
The misery was indescribable.

My point is that people are saying we can`t play God, we can`t decide when someone lives or dies.
However we do exactly that when we keep a person alive who could not survive on their own.

If you truly want to let God have his way then unplug the feeding tube.
When the tube was taken out we saw what God wanted.

Differs from person to person. You know that. ;)

I wouldn't not object to that if it were through unnatural means. But I'm thinking you've been down this road before with Scott.

Starving someone is not natural to us. But assisting a major organ to function when death is inevitable is another story.

No, actually I don`t know that.

Yes, he didn`t get very far down that road either.

I see no difference.
If death is inevitable then death is inevitable.
It`s one of the very few objective truths I`m aware of.

The thing is that no human can decide when one dies.
When should Mrs.Schiavos tube been removed?
When she was 80? 90?

When would it have been "just" to remove it?

Round and round.

Now you do. Although you can choose to believe I'm living in horror, misery, etc. if you'd like. Makes little difference to me.

More then likely, we won't either. Although I do not hope for that.

If it's through unnatural means then it's up to the individual and family.
