The NHS turns 69 today and in its time of crisis it needs us. Always be thankful for the NHS!

Maybe one day America will realize they should have just been doing a similar thing all along.

Yep, the NHS is a fine thing, it is easy to forget that in many countries being "low income" equates to an early grave if you get something serious. It also allows the snake oil merchants to step in with their pills, potions, crystals and incantations, because the poor cannot afford conventional treatment (i.e. stuff that works).
Still cant believe that homeopathy is available on the NHS though. What next? A witch doctor ward at the local infirmary?

A proud institution. The UK offers one of the best healthcare systems in the world. The Tories would like to see an end to the NHS. Which, economically speaking, since money is all they care about, is extremely inadvisable and shortsighted. In terms of human cost, it is self evident to any intelligent person what will happen to the poor if the NHS is privatised.
