It might be worth mentioning that Bourbon is made in only one county in one state in the U.S.A.

Bourbon County Kentucky.

There are a handful of different distilleries such as Four Roses, Makers Mark, Jim Beam just to name a few.

What makes Bourbon Whiskey different? We use Oak Barrels and char them with fire.

The Oak Charred Barrels and the aging of the whiskey results in a taste and smoothness unlike no other spirit.

Mixing this whiskey should be a sin, but like was mentioned, a splash of water or what I like to do when I enjoy this beverage Is to serve poured over crushed ice.

Nothing against Scotch Whiskey, I just have not aquired a taste for it.

After a hard day, I have found sipping a little Bourbon takes the edge off and puts me in a better mood.

Sure thing.

The peat characteristic is mostly associated with Islay malts, whereas Lowland malts are relatively soft in nose and palate.

I'm getting adventurous in my dotage; currently enjoying a Swedish and Japanese malt. The latter is stupendous!

I do have a taste for Bourbon, or even Japanese whisky like Hibiki. But out of curiosity, which Scotch whisky did you try? single malts? blended? blended malt? and which brands? perhaps you haven't tasted the right ones for you...
Bourbon is very much liked here (Israel), but I think that Scotch single malts reign supreme in our whisky culture.
