Has anyone taken the 'Build Your Own Theology' course yet?

Hmm....that should be a required course before anyone signs up with a church.

Hahaha... if they went through the Build Your Own Theology course, I doubt that anyone would join a traditional church after that, lol.

It is made for seekers who are already in or discovering or are even interested in Unitarian Universalism. That being said, it gives alot of introspection on what one believes, and to build one's self a credo that is highly personal with the freedom to analyse other beliefs.

I just got the textbook, and it has some pretty nice exercises!

Interesting. Is there any kind of online information or is it textbook only?

What kind of stuff is in it?
There are 3 books in the BYOT series. Book 1 is designed for a 10 session course. Session1: Doing theology, a liberal religious model
Session 2: your religious journey or spiritual autobiography
Session3: varieties of religious experience
Session4: Human Nature
Session 5: Ultimate Reality, God
Session 6: History
Session7: Ethics
Session 8: We are the meaning makers
Session 9: So what? Imperatives of my theology
Session 10: Wrapping it up: writing your personal Credo or belief statement

Unitarian Universalists I'd guess. ;)
But think it could be useful to all Seekers, which still include UU's.

I was asking more maturity level. Is it for kids or adults only or what?

To my understanding and experience, I'd say this is more for Adults, especially ones that weren't raised as UUs.

The 'Sunday School' portion for the Children comprises a vast outlook on lots of spiritual and social matters, that is ,kids are taught to investigate from the git go.

I'll have to check out these BYOT books for myself. I almost bought the books from the UUA Bookstore about a month ago, but decided on getting something else instead. Maybe these will be part of my next purchase.
