Would anyone be surprised if there was an effort to collect names of anyone who criticized Trump and MAGA? Imagine if they asked MAGA citizens to enter names. Would any of RF MAGAs think twice about turning in the majority of members?
- An RF member wondering aloud if fellow American RFians would “turn in” the anti Trump members. (“turn in” as in get them arrested or something?)

I for one would be surprised.

I don’t follow all the political threads, so I am left wondering if tensions are really this high?

Harris supporters, do you genuinely feel that RF Trump supporters would “turn you in”? Has the level of distrust grown that wide and the discourse soured that much?

I for one would be surprised if RFians would “turn in” their fellow members for not being “MAGA”.

I figured I can make this thread and ask “MAGA” members if they’d turn in the anti Trump people of this site.

Why would anyone have to turn anyone in? Anyone can read what's posted publicly on the internet, so in a way, we've all turned ourselves in. There may be government agents and political shills posing as regular people on the internet. And there may be regular people posing as...whatever they want to.

But in all seriousness, I don't think anyone cares all that much about what regular people talk about on message boards and social media. Those who stand out or get attention might be watched, but not ordinary Joes so much.

Of course, with Trump, you never know. Maybe he's taken a personal interest in RF and has dossiers on all of us.

I am a (Christian) socialist. So, I would never vote for Trump. I do not like Harris either because she is rabidly pro-abortion and a warmonger. But I will hold my nose and vote for her because she is the lesser of two evils on environmental issues, which is what I mainly vote on.

But hypothetically, if Mr. Trump won and he told the class that we all had to write a note and give it to the teacher. On that note was everyone we know who was vocal against Trump. I’d like to think that our Trump supporters here would not snitch in such a ridiculous scenario.

But who knows. Maybe America really is just a small step away from being 1930s Germany.

I never indicated that I wasn't voting, but I certain won't vote for either one of these two candidates. I can't even get a little bit behind either one.

I don't know if it would ever come to anything that extreme as 1930s Germany.

Besides, if it ever came to that, at least when dealing with the MAGAs, one might be able to try various plausible stories to get yourself off the hook. Like one could say, "All my anti-Trump posts on RF were the result of my being controlled by mind-control rays from the alien lizard people. It wasn't my fault. Please let me go." What else could they do? They, more than anyone else, know about the devious ways of those alien lizard people, so they'd have no other choice but to let me go.

When the government asks for people to turn in their neighbours, it's generally to "investigate" them.

MAGA Republican officials - namely De Santis - has already shown that he'll use information at his disposal to "investigate" average voters who he sees as political opponents.

Just filled in my ballot and put it in my new mailbox, voted for the third party candidate that was most aligned with my general philosophy, but there were still only two choices of who to vote for.
Yes we need to work on expanding choices, I am all in favor of ranked choice voting as a step in the right direction to allow you to vote your conscience without jeopardizing further than necessary ending up with the worst possibility and encouraging a wider range of candidates to truly bring more voices out.
That said, I find the vote this time to be rather more existential than most other times.
