Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

Yes, my conscience goes against that God as well. I don't approve of what the God of the Bible did. But there is still truth found in the Scriptures. Just don't follow the ones that go against your conscience

If much of the scripture is wrong then can it be divinely inspired?

I read an article recently about fear, phobias, etc...and how often times, we consume our lives with unwarranted fears. Fear over the unknown can be cause for great anxiety, and most of the time, whatever it is we are fearing...never happens. So, has your greatest fear ever really come true? if so, how did you handle it? Did it help you to overcome your fears, in general?

I think that my greatest fear is bringing harm to others. And I have done it in the past to my great shame.

I just realized that i wrongly assumed Deidre's gender.

I apologize for that Deidre, I meant no disrespect.

But I find it suspect that you call all of your good emotions "god" and all of your bad emotions you.

I suspect that this may be why you seem to underestimate your own value as a person.
Before I knew God I lived for drugs and pleasure. I met God and beautiful heavenly spirits and am being transformed into a meek, humble, honest, and peaceful person. I hate who I am without God's help.

You have a good heart that convicts you that it is wrong to hurt others. I call that God. Call it conscience, call it whatever. I believe that the spirit of God is alive and active in you

Isn't being good it's own reward?

If you dislike being bad and knew that you where being bad, then why do you need god to recognize that?

I have issues with Scripture. I'm not sure all of it is divinely inspired

If you have issues with scripture then why follow any of it?

God transformed me. I do good because I fell in love with God and the spirits assigned to me. I believe they delight in my good works.

As an atheist I wouldn't do good. I just know I don't naturally have that integrity. I admire you for having that integrity :)

Regarding Scripture, it contains good passages like love your enemies, forgive, care for the poor and sick, give to the needy, and other virtuous behaviours that are good for everyone

How do you know it was them and not you?

But you know what is right and wrong without religion or god.

How can you tell what scripture is good and what is bad otherwise?

Of course those are good things. But they are not unique to scripture.

Multiple coincidences confirmed that God was in my life. I know it sounds silly to an atheist.

Without God I was evil and full of hate. I don't think I knew right from wrong.

Regarding Scripture, pray for enlightenment and follow your conscience.

If you knew what scripture to follow, then you knew right and wrong.

Do you just need convincing that doing what is right is rewarding?

It gave you the freedom to ignore

By that logic my mind is a god.

My greatest fear is vomiting, and it has happened about five times in my life.
I'm not sure if I should congratulate you on having such a mundane "greatest fear" or we should collectively shun you for being so ****ing boring. My god. What kind of person looks at the infinite horrors that could be spawned by the human imagination and decides to walk away after barely even getting through all the terrifying things that can happen to your body? You didn't even pick a cool one! "Vomiting". You could've gone for a flesh-eating disease! Brain tumors would've been better!

I'm just so disappointed.

What? Me worry?
My greatest fear is that I find myself arguing with people I can't even see for years...oh, wait...
