Hate

In my opinion one of the things that might divide people the most is the fact that some of us still support the death penalty as a punishment. It may be the single biggest underlying contributor for hatred between people who support the death penalty as punishment and people who don’t. However, I don’t hate people who have different beliefs. I respect their beliefs. Just trying to figure out where all the hate in the world is coming from. I could be wrong.

I don't think putting someone down is necessarily from hatred. I could see myself shooting a dangerous animal that was attacking someone without a qualm of conscious or a shred of hatred for the animal. I don't know why it's any different to put a man down that is clearly worse than an animal in his violence towards others.

I see, well alright. Good luck with that. I don't hate people who disagree with me. Actually I'm open minded. I support death penalty in theory but not necessarily in fact because I question the current justice in the judicial system.

We have millions of people in prisons which are run in various ways. Death could be more humane. Arguably. If the prisons were better and were not overcrowded or so plentiful it would be much more difficult to support a death penalty. The argument against the death penalty is what...that life is sacred? What exactly is the argument against the death penalty which does not apply to enslaving people?

Overcrowded as a reason? I don’t think that many put to death in the us. as far as other countries go, what there’s no space to build more jails?

I respect people’s right to believe, not their beliefs.

Hmm...we are possibly of similar mind then.
I would only support it in extremely limited cases, and looking at it's historical usage her (Australia) I would absolutely NOT support it coming back.
But in theory I could see it.

That mistakes are made.
Looking back at historical cases here in Australia is pretty chilling. So if you incarcerate them you drastically reduce their quality of life for a period of time. You kill them, it's a little more permanent.

That's my answer. Feel free to reply with something shows that you are aware of the conditions in US prisons. They are terrible inhumane conditions, and the inmates are often purposely pit against each other by the wardens. How in your opinion is that more moral than a death penalty?

Does that clarify what I mean? The prisons are terrible, so maybe death is not a worse penalty. Maybe it is, but maybe its not. The prisons are pretty terrible. They don't just lock you up. They torment you.
