No. Fireworks are actually very dangerous here due to the semi-arid climate and houses are just too close together, meaning fireworks pose a firehazard to your neighbors. Plus, seriously, the smoke from it all gets almost as bad as the autumn fogs here (called Tule Fog).

Crazy!!

If it's any consolation, a lot of people in my country also set off extremely loud fireworks during both Eid holidays. Sometimes I wonder when one of those things will be loud enough to trigger an air-raid siren.
