Go there now and read as many tracts as you can at w w w .chick. com
After you've had your fill, come back and tell me what you thought of them. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I guess I first discovered Chick tracts around 1973 or 1974. They're fascinating, in a train-wreck kind of way; just about every one of the very worst aspects of Christianity finds its way into a Chick tract.

Well, that was certainly offensive towards Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Pagans and Wiccans and filled with boldfaced lies about them.

Fortunately, whatever my other failings, I am not stupid enough to waste my time reading literature filled with hate and bigotry!

Obstructor of justice
I have read a few of his things. If it weren't for the fact that they were designed to be grossly offensive because of all of the wonderfully sickening misinformation (and that's being nice....I'd rather call it propaganda), it would be really funny. But...it isn't really. I feel bad for all the people who read these things and believe what they say without doing thier own research, and I also peel considerable pity for those who believe in these things so much that they feel the need to promote them. Sad, really.

If you want a tract with REAL advice, check this one out: http://www.geocities.com/tribhis/cthulhutract.html

Cthulu Fthagan. That is all.

:biglaugh: Chick tracts! I read those every now and then, if I've got nothing better to do. Some of them I find funny, but mostly I find them ignorant, bigoted, and hateful, among other things. But I thought that having devils or whatever clinging to the homosexuals in the "Birds and the Bees" tract was a nice touch.

I like them, they tell people how to get saved, guess that makes me a narrow-minded bigot, but, oh well.

They also have FALSE and WRONG information about other faiths. They twist other faiths in to something horrible, wrong and perverted, when they are not. Most of their information is ABSOLUTLEY false.

The cake is a lie
Much to my shame, my grandfather regularly brings some of those home. They're really entertaining until I remember some people actually believe the tripe about other faiths in there. :(

ABSOLUTELY false...ah, but what is truth? What is doctrinal truth? What we or our leaders decide it is? Jesus is the truth, I will stick with Him, I will pray to Him, and worship Him, and trust in Him. Jack Chick, well he just a man, he may be wrong sometimes, I dunno, but I like him, because he tells people how to get saved.

The cake is a lie
There's a difference between being human and knowingly spreading lies. Jack Chick does the latter, since I know people have tried to correct him in the past.

Well, he will answer to the Lord if he has spread lies. As will any false prophets or teachers that have come down the pike making up their false religions and leading men astray from the Gospel of Jesus Christ with vain religions filled with the ideas and lies of men, who offer their church as the only church, and teach that we must earn our way to Heaven when the Bible says it is a free gift, adding their church, their sacraments, dead works, rituals, baptisms, ceremonies, covenants, etc to what Christ did, lowering Christ in their eyes and in others. There is truth, it will be shown who is the false teachers with the false religions, I will wait, and let the Lord judge them.

Chick tracts remind me that everyone has freedom of speech in this country, even those with vile and offensive opinions of others.

I am sure the Nazi's thought we had vile and offensive opinions of them, and hey, they followed a false leader, with false teaching, and I am glad someone said something about it.

Disgusting? Bigoted? Discriminatory? Please! You are speaking of my hero, Jack Chick. He is not merely disgusting, bigoted, and discriminatory. Even James Dobson is merely disgusting, bigoted, and discriminatory, Becky. What kind of compliment is that? Can't you see that my hero, Jack Chick, has achieved unwavering excellence at being disgusting, bigoted, and discriminatory? Don't you appreciate the outstanding and extraordinary effort he's made? Why, James Dobson is a weak little backsliding sissy of a bigot compared to my mighty Jack Chick! Have you no appreciation for excellence, Becky?

James Dobson, love him too! These guys are not afraid to tell people they are wrong. If you love someone you will tell them how to be saved, thru Jesus Christ alone, so they don't wind up in Hell. If telling people how to be saved is wrong, then I don't wanna be right. If it offends someone, so be it.
