Health Care Workers Decline COVID-19 Vaccine

If any don't want the vaccine, I'll take their place.

As far as the death toll goes, we're at 4000/day in the US and ICU's are refusing to take people who have a low chance of survival in LA (heart attack victims who can't be revived in the ambulance).

In a society that pushes the ego as the sole arbiter for good and bad, right and wrong,
In an argument between the ego and the good of everyone else,
The ego usually wins.
In my case, my personal selfish ego wants to survive. So it's more than just ego.

It would appear a significant percentage of health care workers are declining the vaccine. Anyone else find this concerning?

It is happening in nursing homes and, to a lesser degree, in hospitals, with employees expressing what experts say are unfounded fears of side effects from vaccines that were developed at record speed. More than three weeks into the campaign, some places are seeing as much as 80% of the staff holding back.

Vaccine rollout hits snag as health workers balk at shots
Disgusting. Though maybe they’re banking on being immune due to exposure.
Still I have family who are on the front lines. In multiple areas. They’re rearing to go for the vaccine roll out. I’ve even had multiple lectures on my own safety procedures. And my state has been doing the best in my country. Not to brag or anything lol.
No but we had like one case of the more infectious UK strain and immediately entered extremely strict lockdown. Caused panic buying, though that’s on the public, not the government.
Even I’ll admit the government yobbos are doing a decent job. Listening to expert advice and being very cautious

Health Care employers should make their employees being vaccinated against C.O.V.I.D, a necessary condition of employment.

It's sobering to realize that many of the problems we're seeing today were decades in the making, and that most of us are only now getting around to taking them seriously. That is, after they have 'detonated'.
How is a virus that's been around for 14 months something that is "decades in the making"?

Also, the Obama administration did take the threat of a pandemic seriously.

Development of vaccines for coronaviruses got more attention and research after the SARS (also a coronavirus) outbreak in the early 2000s.

Many of the vaccines either developed or in development now for COVID-19 used that previous R&D as a starting point.

Are you honestly thinking what you see in the country today is all the consequence of 'a virus that's been around for 14 months'? Really?

Please tell me, do you consider yourself reasonably well informed? I won't debate your answer. I'm just curious to learn what you believe about that.

Maybe contact their GP. At their age they should be a priority
I will probably do that next week, the first vaccine had to be kept at (was it) minus 60; so not transportable. The new vaccines are transportable so I hope they will be on the radar when it becomes available.
So, I went round to Mum & Dad's yesterday afternoon. Mum has received her COVID jab letter, she's 91; Dad who is 90 in May hasn't got his yet.
I read said letter and you have to make an appointment on line, so I took letter away.
Stuck in Mum's details and she was offered Macclesfield, Widnes or Birmingham! Nearest of those is about 15 miles away. Remember she hasn't left the house since March.

What will you do? Mask her up and drive to the appointment?

Maybe her doctor can arrange something more convenient

At times like that i am so glad france still has a local team of nurses just a phone call away 24/7

We are trying the "Who you know" route; We know that there are 3 centres dishing out the jab within a couple of miles of her house.
We have a nurse who will do some chasing tomorrow.

I was referring to your comment in a thread entitled "health-care-workers-decline-covid-19-vaccine."

I assumed you were discussing the problem of people not wanting to get the COVID vaccine.
