Healthy fastfood choices

Well Ive been watching My 600 Pound life reruns and have seen some who say when they are on the road theres no other place to eat except fastfood places that are cheap and convenient .The truth is she could go to a restaurant or make her own food. But sense she and a few others have said similar stuff Im putt this here.

In the first place most fastfood places these days if nothing else have salads chicken salads which are lowfat leave off the dressing.

Taco bell, tacos made out of corn shells are a healthy carb so you can get chicken or steak without cheese,or you can put cheese if the fat doesnt bother you and salad stuff in it. Usually a refrieds bean and cheese side doesn't bother me with the fat,I think it only has 8 fat grams so its not that bad or you could get healthy black bean serving which is healthier. They also have mexican salad.Im sure taco bueno and other fast food mexican places have something similar.

Subway is number one in my book several lowfat sandwhiches you can get on whole wheat and baked lays a variety of them yumm!

SOnic has a nice Chicken breast on whole wheat bun sandwhich. Mcdonalds has chicken sandwhice and yogurt parfait and also a health breakfast biscuit sandwhich available.

Jasons deli has lowfat baked potatos which nice stuff in them too, also soup or salad is a good place.

Even Braums has a version of sugarfree icecream.

Grilled chicken sandwich with tomato and lettuce, withhold the mayo, substitute fries with whatever fruit option is available, and ice water.

Even the "healthy" stuff at fast food joints are so chock full of salt and preservatives that I'd still recommend home meal prep. Even at my busiest I could make time for it, and it was cheaper and healthier for me and my family.

I'm mostly with @ADigitalArtist . Packing a little food to take is easy and cheap. But when I stop for fast food, maybe once a month, I almost always get Subway. They'll pack it full of vegetables and make a salad sandwich. Not the best veggies, and I am sure there's lots of sulphate. But it's the best choice in my opinion.

I agree with Subway. We travel a lot, and will take the first two meals from home for the first day. Then its breakfast in the hotel room, but Subway salads if we do need to stop. As far as fast food goes while at home, maybe once a year, if that, on some really tiring day.

It's not so much burger's and sandwiches as soda and fries... I've been on CICO (Calories in Calories Out) for about 60 days and lost 30 pounds at 1600 calories a day.

Just water with diet drinks in moderation, eat whatever and stay under 1600 calories a day... It may take some getting used to but your stomach will shrink over time, drink like a gallon of water a day.

Condiments add up quick too... You've got a tbsp of mayo, mustard, ketchup, secret sauce on that burger, that's probably 300 calories alone in condiments. :(

Really, eat out only out of necessity... Get low fat/low carb makings at home... Light Mayo, all that stuff.

Most of those fast food salads are loaded with sugar and other things that normal home-made salads do not have. Really, you're better off just avoiding them.

I don't think Taco Bell has anything healthy. Their entire niche is cheap food for people who aren't concerned about the nutritional disaster they are about to put into their belly.

It depends on what you get. They are the better option for fast food, but do mindful that you're getting still getting many chemicals that are found in no one's personal kitchen, and they can make weight loss harder.

Just because they claim whole wheat doesn't make it so.
Mcdonalds has chicken sandwhice and yogurt parfait and also a health breakfast biscuit sandwhich available.
Pretty much everything at McDonald's has added sugars and various toxic chemicals that will make weight loss harder. Really, it would better to just give up fast food entirely, and it would save you a ton of money and even time in the long run.

Diet drinks are terribly unhealthy, make you crave real sugar, and put you at a higher risk for type 2 diabetes.

Carbs get a very unfairly deserved bad reputation. They are not all created equal, there is a such thing as good and healthy carbs that the body needs, but many people eat too many of them. High performance athletes eat truck loads of pasta, but it provides them with the energy to get their their intense training and workouts. The average person, on the other hand, probably doesn't even need all the carbs proved by a 6-inch sub bun, and most certainly not all the carbs from a 12 inch.

The typical diet is 1800-2000 a day, but because there is too much individual variance a doctor or nutritionist should be the one to suggest how many calories a day someone should eat to loose weight at a healthy rate. At a healthy rate, most people will only loose a couple pounds a week, and depending on individual health, any faster may put them at risk for internal damage, not to mention excessive flappy skin that may even have to be surgically removed in cases of rapid or extreme weight loss.

Well id say some of these posts are too strict for me. But the thing is if these people were eating one small kiddie burger and a diet coke and nothing else really they would not be fat. the people on this program are sitting there eating 3 or 4 qouter burgers and 5 fries and 2 shakes at once, dr Now the obesity docter on there says it takes 20 to 30 thousand calories a day to feed these people. therefore the facts are theyre sitting there and having 8 meals at once at fastfood places. Like I said a small kids burger and diet coke or even a kids meal, they wouldn't be in this situation

Panera Bread is the closest I've seen for healthy choices and also being ''fast food.'' Their salads are great, and they show the calorie content, you can get a half or whole order...but, as far as the drive through types, not so much.

But dr Now the surgery for obesity dr on those shows have said once or twice these people have to eat 1 to 20 thousand calories a day to keep 600 pounds on them. If they choose healthy and eat 15 thousand calories of milks fruits and chicken breast and fish theyre still keeping the weight on.

I look for high fat, high complex-carb options, with a low to moderate amount of protein. Chipotle bowls with guac usually hits the spot.

Healthy is not synonymous with low fat. People need fat and cholesterol to function.

I eat meatball subs, pepperoni pizza, drink lots of soda, and I am nowhere near fat. This is probably because I have a very high metabolism and I excersize a lot.

I still try to avoid cake and stuff, I find foods that are very sweet disgusting.

I go to Chipotle for lunch sometimes, since there is one pretty close to where I work.

I get a bowl with white rice, black beans, grilled vegetables, chicken, hot sauce, and lettuce. Then I drizzle my own olive oil on it for some extra fat, and usually have some carrot sticks or something on the side with it.

I'd prefer it if Chipotle did not use rice bran oil, but overall, it's a pretty solid meal. Most of my other food is home-cooked.

I enjoy Chipotle. Moe's Southwest Grill is also very good. Flour tortillas are relatively unhealthy, though, so I'd suggest sticking with corn.
