hi everyone,
am new to the forum [obviously:D], have been looking for a judaism specific forum but cannot seem to find any,was about to give up when luckily RF came up in the google search this time-never thought to look up a mixed religeon forum.

am thirty years old, from england and severely disabled;have got severe classic autism and mild intelectual disability amongst other impairments and have lived in institutional and residential care for many years.
as a child, was baptised/confirmation etc into catholicism but always resented the way was forced to go along to something with family that did not understand or relate to, family were hardcore irish catholics.
was left at home with some of the family when had gotten big enough to fight them from going, they thought was possesed by the devil because of the behavior had shown towards the religeon but had not understood it one bit plus was highly confused by the stories being a rigid, literal and basic thinker.

a lot of people of all beliefs will probably be able to relate but its different as an adult because we are able to make our own mind up what we think about religeon and for several years now, have felt a strong undying connection and belonging to liberal judaism and today had finaly got the courage to start off the whole journey into conversion because a newer support staff of mine is jewish and we are going to go see her rabbi however am not saying one word of this to family-especialy mother because she is truly anti every religeon but christianity and she went crazy when she found out was reading a PDF of the satanic bible as she associates satanism from the traditional christian view-does anyone have any experience with converting to another religeon and having issues with their parents? woud be itneresting to know how have dealt with it,cheers!

Welcome aboard :D

It is believed in the Abrahamic religions that willingly maintaining patience to life's difficulties gives great reward in the after life, and it gets even much greater the more difficult life is!

Bless you :)

Hello, FerrelRabbit. Here's a little joke or two:

Did you hear about the time Bug Bunny tried to cook carrots? He did everything right but his 'hare' got in the way.

Did you know that Bugs bunny was one of the animals on Noah's Ark? He was so annoying that Noah almost kicked him out instead of the dove.
