Help Create the Perfect RF World's New Religion

On a more serious note, I think that respect for the natural world, and the recognition that we are a part of it is very important.
Too many people act as though we can just do whatever the hell we want without any real consequences.

I'm not a fan of strict dogmas, so I'd like to minimize that aspect as much as possible. Also, I'd like to see something that encourages learning and free/critical thinking.

Encouraging positive behavior towards others should also be a must, though one shouldn't forsake themselves, either (hard to help others if you can't help yourself). =)

Just having the name RF is to own this religion, where I see true religion not owed by anyone, in fact it must come from within each one of us, that we all share on RF, but no one can own it.

lol RF must be a religion. We have devotion. We come to debate (worship) with others. We have community and sub communities. We have dogma and doctrine (RF Rules). We have rituals just as the act of typing and the act of using smily faces to convey emotion. We have belief, a lot of times we speak to others...and like every other religion, we fight among each other creating different sects to only attract people who agree and like us the most.

Best of all, we have followers. :)

Yes you are right, but this overall is a false religion, we must find that which is true within all the rubble and lies.

So since it has been mentioned multiple times,'why not just create a new religion, without the flaws of what we see in the past'....

Richard Dawkins has said that though he can't stand some of the religions we've got, he can see we need some form of spiritual understanding for bereavement, etc.

So since some of you have been on here for ages, surely you've recognized some of the flaws within the ideas people already have?

Like could we between us, make an optimized religion that suits everyone from every belief?

Like fair enough we'd still keep all the heritage of the older religions, yet advance it into something we could teach children, that would help society, rather than hinder.

It is also possible to see in the past where, religions like Islam, Bahá'í , and others that tried to link the texts, ended up just dividing again.

So what set of things would you include in a world religion, that will fit all in someway?
Hi wizanda,

There is no set of things that will fit all in a world religion. It may seem fitted in physical way but not in spirituality.

Thanks

Wow some of you really don't get a thought experiment between us.... I didn't ask you to debate the idea of us even attempting it; just to come up with ideas that might be useful.

The world's new religion:
Everyone keeps theirs version of god/secular/non-beliefs' rule/moral/law to themselves.

What if the thing being worshiped or praise given to was the collective goodwill of mankind? I could probably get behind something like that.

One religion ideology is a very hard concept which even Christianity and Islam haven't been able to do. Despite proselytizing for eras, they still can't get the 50% mark. Monotheistic religions are usually more unified than non-theistic and polytheistic religions, (if it wasn't for Christianity, Europe would be even more divided).

You know, we're never going to create the perfect religion for RF. The moment we got everybody on board, the LHP guys would rebel ;)

That said, I think we can make the perfect religions. That is to say, each person can find what they personally hold in the highest esteem, regardless of whether they're a theist, atheist, gnostic or agnostic.

That sound like Universal Unitarian.

Perhaps, there's certainly a lot that's attractive about Universal Unitarianism. Again though, it doesn't fit within a LHP framework. There was a thread in the DIR discussing that at one point.

it's an extremely diverse belief system that's a mix of all the popular religions.
