Is there an Islamic bookshop anywhere near you?
You can ask the staff, and choose the one which has the 'style' you prefer..

There are many translations:

Marmaduke Pickthall is a concise, fairly literal translation..
..more modern ones include Dr. Muhammad Musin Khan (Medical Dr. at Medina Al-Munawwarah)

Yeah you really gotta be careful with the English translations. There are some shockers out there!

No..its all the same it just that some use more classical English others contemporary English. Personally I prefer the modern english translation.
what's the difference between classic, contemporary and modern :)

I'll be honest , im abit illiterate << ( i think that's the right word) no good with big words:)

I want Khilafah back
Some translators have used Shakespearean language while others are plain simple english with no big fancy words.

To help me understand, what you are looking for.
An interpretation and a translation are 2 different things.

An exact word for word translation is pretty much an impossibility as many of the words in the Qur'an have no English counter part. The best option for a Translation is an interpretation that holds close to the original meanings.
Three current translations do a good job at this
Kahn
Sahih
Asad

However reading your posts I am under the impression what you actually want is a good interpretation or commentary. I urge all people that seek such to first have a good understanding of the original Arabic and fully understand that all interpretations.commentaries are opinions and subject to error.

With that said I find the introductory commentaries of each Surat, by Maududi to be beneficial and can be read on line HERE Syed Abu-Ala' Maududi's Chapter Introductions to the Qur'an

While I believe that to be helpful to those seeking a general understanding I discourage non-Muslims and Muslims weak in Emaam from reading other writings by Maududi as he was a political activist and his other works reflect his political views more than unbiased interpretation.

Was the Quran written before the bible?

The message of the Qur'an is nothing new. the same message was given to all the Prophets(pbut) that came before. We believe Prophets were sent to all people, we only know the name of a few. but all were given the same message in a form applicable to the times and understandings of the people they were sent to.

In that sense the Qur'an predates all scriptures.
The Qur'an is not a new revelation, just in a form restated for clarity and with the errors removed.
