Hi all...

Krishna Chaitanya

krishnadas
Hi all,

My name is Chaitanya, and am trying to follow the path of Sanatana Dharma (most commonly known by the name Hinduism).

Few things I believe in:
Life is manifestation/presence of consciousness - which is known as 'spirit'. This consciousness is the characteristic of 'soul' - the spiritual being within the body (our'SELF').
All living beings (conscious beings) are spirit-souls and are embedded in the material bodies of various kinds due to false ego (material desire).
The soul is an eternal servant of GOD but in the material world, under the spell of illusion the soul forgets the eternal relation with the supreme lord till he/she makes conscious efforts to revive it back.
The purpose of life is to purify ones consciousness and go back to God's abode (from where we all came from) - where there is no birth, no old age, no disease and no death.
GOD is absolute and he is one without a second, GOD is merciful and all loving.
The demigods (330 million 'gods') are representatives of GOD, but NOT GOD. They are empowered by him to perform various duties.
I mainly believe in the Bhagavad Gita and consider it as the direct word of GOD for the betterment of humanity in general.
The same ONE GOD has several names - I call him Vishnu/Krishna, some call him Jehovah, some call him Allah, some call him Christ. It's the same GOD called by the virtue of his various qualities (which are the meanings of those names).

I am here mainly to have some healthy discussions, instrumental in purifying my consciousness so as to love and serve all living entities as an offering to the supreme lord.

I am not interested in blasphemy and time wasting criticism that often
(i) ends up theoretical and doesn't transform people's hearts
(2) results in grudges, hatred, mental-disturbance and boosts false-ego.

Thanks very much!
Chaitanya

Hi,

Thanks for your welcoming messages Onkara, Badran, 4consideration, Syrokal, Revoltingest, Shuddasattva and Hi to all of you :).

@Shuddasattva: I just hope that I can contribute something that is useful to all of you. Thanks for your encouragement.

@Revoltingest: Greetings to you too! FYI, I prefer neither as I am aware of the meaning of the name. Further, I think its a waste of time to play around with anagrams if they don't elevate one's consciousness. Instead of investing your intellect in activities that do not lead anyone to become better human beings, I guess it would be a fairer deal to invest your abilities in spreading and leading a life of love and compassion.

Thanks,
Chaitanya

Fortunately, the forum also serves those of us with lower intellectual ambitions.
