I'm JeLy. I'm an atheist, and have been since my early twenties - I am twenty-nine now. Previous to that I was never religious, but more or less agnostic and unsure. I was raised to make up my own mind via an atheist father and (non-practicing) Catholic mother. How they got together I cannot tell you, but I sure am glad they did... and I am endlessly grateful that they never once told me what to believe.

Anyway, I came across this website in search of another place to voice my opinions and help shed some light on all of the frustrating stigmas that atheists receive. I hope I can find that here.

us atheists are in no minority here, so I hope you will find your niche and track down those religious (or otherwise) topics that are discussed on the boards and which interest you.

On a side note, I suspect maybe the Catholic upbringing of your mother, was attracted to the wildside of your dad's freedom
