Hi, I'm new.

Hello everyone,

My name is Allan Popa, I'm a theology student/Biblical scholar with interests in cross-cultural religious studies, canon issues, textual issues, gender and sexuality hermeneutics, philosophy (mostly contemporary Continental philosophy: Phenomenology, Deconstruction, Hermeneutics, Literary Criticism, Post-Structuralism, et al.), reception history and narrative hermeneutics.

At the moment I'm finishing up my undergraduate and will be doing post-graduate studies afterwards in religion/culture/history studies. I will probably look mostly at the evolution of Christian faith in ante-Nicean Jewish/Hellenistic relationships, canon issues and aesthetic modals of faith, the development of self-identity, gender and sexuality.

Enough of that, I have a great interest in making friends, having very interesting discussions with people, I hope to expand my knowledge on other religions. Most of all I cannot resist a nice glass of scotch (or a few of them) and a cigar and a great conversation.

Dank,

Allan

Welcome to RF allanpopa!

I too will be interested in reading your postings (assuming I can understand them).

As for scotch, sadly I can no longer drink (conflict with medicine) but luckily I drank enough in college so on average I'm still normal. I only smoked one cigar though.

Thank you all for the warm greetings,

I see a large diversity of religious belief here and hope that I can both participate in it and learn from the different faiths in humble adoration of difference, culture and heritage... And of course superfluous amounts of liquor (no-spoon as well as any other Catholic knows what I'm talking about!). :)

Pace buna,
Dumnezeu sa va binecuvinteze,

Allan
