A friend of mine said a funny thing a while back that you may like or dislike, being atheist. It was something along the lines of "Being atheist and saying all religion is wrong is like saying all music is bad because you haven't found any good bands." Good luck on your quest to understand.

True, though from the perspective of the person who had only encountered bad bands, good music would be an idea that was not supported by the evidence, even if it did exist.

Incidentally I don't feel that person is me. I've heard some good music from a few sources, just not consistently enough from any band to make me a fan of theirs.
