Hello Farrukh
Please don't bring up caste (jati, which is different from varna), advanced Hindus are dealing with resolving this confused practice at the highest levels of several ancient Sampradayas (think of these as sects, such as you have Sunni and Shia). You know I am against jati which is used as "profession determined by birth", and Hindus as myself are trying to see tbrough this but it is the higher stalwarts and religious leaders who have already done much success and more resolution is coming. But I cannot deal with such on a forum level, and within this thread about God Figures it would be too complex among non-Hindus and off subject. I understand you are from Pakistan, so I perfectly understand the history behind Suni feelings regarding this, but this is not the place. You know, I will be going to Pakistan in a few years so I hope I will not be persecuted. You know, many Pakistanis are actually Bharatis or Indians. Do not worry about caste (birth profession), everything is being resolved, but you have to understand that even though castism extremism is the minority, those who do are just like me and you, they have families, servants, roles and places in society, these must be handled in a gentle way. For example, a nice land owner may practice by birth jati, he has dreams for his son, and let us say he has 5 servants who depend on him for a job to support their family. If he becomes too angry at someone like me, he may take his anger out on his son who may have love for a Muslim girl. Or worse he may then take it out on his servants (God knows why?) and send them home with no job. You know perhaps what I am talking about.
So let us just no go there in this thread.
As far as God objects, you know at the Kabah, the corner black rock, which is likely a meteorite, is given devotion by many Muslims. Whether a meteor or some black stone, I can tell you it is very old, before Islam, and we should not think of such as idol worship. You understand? So Jagganath is like that too, inside the wooden Jagannath is something small and also very old. While time is relative, all value the ancient roots which are cherishable and preserved.
