Radhaji is mentioned in ONE Purana; I will find the name and post it.

Regards,

The Brahma-vaivarta mentions her for sure and the Padma may as well.

Related question - what is the position of Radha within the Sri Vaishnava tradition? Is she worshipped as a goddess or as Lakshmi? I know the Madhva Vaishnavas do not see her as Lakshmi and do not worship her.

Thanks for naming the Puranas (and saving me the effort). Here is my position on Radhaji- She is the greatest of all devotees of Lord Krishna. Rukmaniji is the Lakshmiji. Radhaji is depicted by the side of Lord Krishna (?duality) and Laxmiji is said to reside in the Lord's heart (?non duality or ?qualified non duality).

She is Shakti. The divine Mother. I've always thought of her as equivalent to Lakshmi.

Could you tell us a little about your sect of Hinduism.

Could you tell us a little about your sect of Hinduism.

Sure WY. I have mentioned it in previous posts too when I initially joined RF Satsang. I take Pujya Pramukh Swamiji of BAPS SwamiNarayan as my Guru. I do believe in all Avatars of the God and also believe that Lord SwamiNarayan was God. I have a VERY SPECIAL place for Lord Shiva in my heart and I take him as God too. Hence, you cannot call me adhering strictly to a sect. I try to follow Shikshapatri (which are Dharmas given by Lord SwamiNarayan and are mainly from Yajnavalkya Smriti). My favorite Scriptures are the Vachanamrut (by Lord SwamiNarayan), Upanishads, Bhagvad Gita, Bhagvatam, Vasudev Mahatamya (Skanda Puran- Vishnu Khand). I love and rever all the Scriptures attributed to Shri Veda Vyasji. I have the highest of regards for Vedic Rishis and more modern ones like Sri Adi Shankara and Sri Ramana Maharshi. My inclination is Vishishtadvaita, but I take Advaita and Dvaita to be true too. I believe in strict Vegeterianism, sattvik foods (for all Indriyas) and avoiding intoxicants (for all Indriyas). Four paths of Hinduism I take as Sanatana- Samkhya, Vedanta, Yoga and Agama (Panchratra)- and believe that they complement each other; hence necessary to know ALL four to have a full Jnana. I offer daily Pooja in my home temple to Lord SwamiNarayan, Lord Rama and family, Lord Krishna- Radhaji, Shaligram, Shiva Lingam, Parvatiji, Hanumanji, Ganeshji, Sai Baba, Guru Parampara.

Interesting insight, Satsangi! How does one take a Guru, does it require some kind of initiation in general or does one just choose a Guru. I assume that it is just a choice in the case where a Guru is no longer in a body?

Generally speaking initiation is done- it may or may not be an elaborate ritual though, depending on the sect and the Guru. In my opinion, the initiation can also happen in any state- awake, sleep or dream states; the Guru need not be physically present.
