RF just purchased http://www.hinduismforums.com/ which will be directly pointed to religiousforums.com in an effort to correct this and increase hindu membership. We have also done this with other religions and beliefs before. It'll take a few hours in order for the forwarding to be setup, but ultimately you will be able to go to hinduismforums.com and it will be directed to RF. Hope that helps some.

I'm now seeing this. What on earth is wrong with me? Excuse me for a couple of secs, just cover your ears....EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is so cool! Thank you! Thank you! I love you guys. Mwah mwah (In a purely platonic way of course). Oh wow! Oh wow! ***Doing a happy dance*** Oh and I almost forgot ---

Hehe. I know I'd LOVE to see more folks from representing the "Hindu" perspective. I know it has had a massive effect on my thinking over the years. Granted my thinking was heavily influenced by Vaisnava thought, but nonetheless reaches deeply into the "whole ball of wax" of Hinduism.

*wanders out of the thread chanting*
"There's no place like OM; there's no place like Om."
*clicks heels three times and disappears*

You guys must think I'm crazy. I'm flattered...I try...I try...
Not to worry, my ears only bled for a few moments due to all your screeching, lol. I am still having difficulty with the very low tones though. Reminds me of when I saw Led Zeppelin.
Are you related to Robert Plant?

Whoops, shorry. At least your ears are not backed up with excessive wax. No, I'm not related to Robert Plant. This reminds me, when I was younger someone told me that I have a big mouth for a little girl. I can just scream really loudly (ask my neighbours about my encounters with cochroaches). Apart from that, I generally speak softly and I'm very introverted until I make someone my best friend, then I will yap on forever.

This. I happily practice Ahimsa in my everday life!
(I am a vegan btw)

God bless you. I'm not vegan but I am vegetarian (no meat, fish etc.). Ahimsa is a very high duty, however, when you practice it, it doesn't become a duty, it becomes part of you, it becomes a joy. I'm very careful about cheese because some are cured with rennet (something taken from a cow's or pig's stomach). I use rennet-free cheese. I eat very little cheese because of the fat and the cholesterol in it. I sometimes make pizza with soya cheese.

It's the same everywhere else Akshar. I've been to other religious sites and the Hindu forums are all like ghost towns. Hinduism seems to be alive and kicking in the West, but is slowly being choked to death in the land of its origin due to indifference and increasing wealth. It's just a temporary low point I believe. We will rise again.

Perhaps Hinduism discussions can be found on sites in Indian languages. Writing in for example Hindi would perhaps be more convenient for discussions on terms and practices, and referring to Scripture quotes in Sanskrit might be more easily understood.

Activity is a question not only for Hinduism. I'm on a Daoist forum, which seems to embrace the principle of Wu Wei in the meaning, don't perform any unnecessary actions...

Thank you! It's not really that hard! Yeah cheese sucks, dairy is bad for you anyways. I use soy cheese to make pizza also...I love making mini pizza's on English Muffins.

Hi! Welcome to RF. I noticed that you said "WE will rise again." Does this mean that you are Hindu also? It will be really great to have a new Hindu on RF. Ah well, even if you aren't Hindu, thank you anyway for your kind words. I'm not from India but my ancestors came from there. In Trinidad there are many Hindus but some of them don't even know what treasure they were given in terms of Hinduism. I hope to see you around more often. Keep well.

Yes Hema, I'm Hindu, but I do not go to temples as such. I do yoga and meditation, and am with the group SRF for a long time now.

Destroyer of Worlds
You can tell by looking at me that I'm a Shiva man.

Read my posts and you'll know.

I came to destroy.

Hinduism is dying in the same way that other religions are dying. Humanity is ready for something new. Something better.

I will destroy the old so that new seed can be sown.

Well I wouldn't label myself a "Hindu" but I do embrace some of it's beliefs.:)

Same here.
I spent a long time looking into Hinduism and once even considered it my path, I don't any longer but a lot of Hindu apects really make sense to me. I also love the beauty and diversity of the faith. Hinduism is pretty awesome!
I don't mind discussing it :)

I didn't write Hinduism off totally...It's one of the faiths I feel closer to, even now. I never really considered myself Hindu, I considered it as a possible path for me though. Nothing really turned me off to Hinduism...I'm a perpetual seeker and something within me told me to move along. There's a possiblity I'll come back to it in the future, I'm not sure. Anything is possible. My idea of god is much like Brahman and I love the symbolism and meaning of the gods (I saw them more as powerful energies and symbols of the unknowable Brahman)-- Saraswati and Shiva Nataraja are my favorites. I think the religion is beautiful and so is India. My real name is a Sanskrit word and is linked to Hinduism and Buddhism-- I never tell anyone online because it is so rare, they're might only be five of us in the US and I'm not joking! I think Sanskirt is facinating, too. It felt like something was missing though, exactly what I'm not sure.
