I personally favor Morgan Freeman, who has, in fact, played god before.
He is like that friendly type of grandfather who always has a word of comforting wisdom and I would love to have him read to me before bedtime.
He has one of the most pleasant voices I know of.

As much as I like Morgan Freeman as God, I think Gary Busey would be a good choice. Any God that would create this world must be a little unhinged. God is clearly crazy...and not the good "quirky" kind of crazy, the "I will bite your nose off" Gary Busey kind of crazy.
