I wouldn't want to be a Palestinian in your world!! One Holocaust does not justify another Palestinian Holocaust

its obvious from reading the whole statement that she didn't mean anything positive about the holocaust, presumably English is her second language.

She obviously made a terrible choice of words, but if you use your brain and don't intentionally try to interpret her words in bad faith just because you disagree with her, it's also obvious that she's not saying that the Holocaust was good or anything anti-Semitic like the media is trying to spin it now.

It's kind of hard to trust Tlaib when she gained the support of J Street by agreeing that a two-state solution is the best, only to apparently backtrack later and say a two-state solution won't work.

Also, Lyndon, she was born and raised in the States; went to school there. She should be pretty much fluent in English.

Rashida Tlaib says Palestinians created 'safe haven' for Jews after Holocaust

Rashida Tlaib slammed by House GOP over statement that Holocaust gives her 'kind of a calming feeling'

Where oh where in god's green earth, do these people come from?

Isn't there anybody from the Socialist Democrat Party , that isn't off their Rocker?

What I don't get is how the Palestinians provided the safe haven...wasn't it the Allies that carved up the Middle East and made a new spot for Jews in Europe to go in the form of the nation of Israel? Weren't the Palestinians merely the victims forced into this situation?

No they weren't. It's actually the opposite. The Arabs of the time were so opposed to the possibility of a Jewish country they started attacking Jewish settlements months before Israel was created.

The Arabs weren't these nice guys that 'the Jews' took advantage of. They were intolerant who aren't happy with the significant number of Arab/Muslim countries which already existed and couldn't stomach the thought of being governed by the yehud.

I look at it as the Europeans enforced national boundaries at the expense of the Arabs on behalf of Jews. Really the Europeans exported their own problem and made it a Middle East problem. There was obviously a lack of trust between the Arabs in the area and the Jews and putting one over the other in either direction seems like a recipe for the kind of disaster that exists. The European nations had the power, the agency in all this, and so I would hold them primarily responsible for the origination of this particular conflict.

But that is history and it is now also the responsibility of the Jews and Palestinians to work things out peacefully as well as for European nations and the US to help as much as possible to help out. Everyone is responsible, no one is off the hook.

We get a Muslim Congresswoman who doesn't choose her words very well (I'd give her a C- or D+ which is horrible for a politician, but with our POTUS as our current lead example...who can really complain?) but whose point is arguable and look how much mistrust is generated in the US.
