Holy Books

Muffled

Jesus in me
If someone gave you a book of recipes that included unattainable ingredients, would it have any practical application? or results of providing sustenance?

man doesn't live by bread alone but by "every" word as god.

Some ingredients may be hard to obtain like sharks fin but I believe I will find tuna fish and be able to make tuna casserole. At any rate the cookbook will have enough recipes I can make.

The same is true of the Bible. I may not be able to heal the sick if I don't have that gift but I will still be able avoid sin making my life a lot better.
The message in the holy books is attainable.
If it were not so, then they could not have been written.

I believe that is a non-sequitur. The conclusion doesn't follow from the premise. Books are written about time travel but one certainly doesn't have the ability to do that now.

Muffled

Jesus in me
They would not know how to even write it if they had not first done it themselves.
This is no ordinary message.
The majority of it is hidden to only those who are willing to do what it says.

I don't believe this is true. I think it is highly unlikely that Luke could do the miracles that Jesus did.

If I am wanting to cook a recipe that has unattainable ingredients, I will find substitutes that suffice...like money, sex, drugs, politics, etc.
Whatever a holy book might insist, they are all written by some man or, I suppose, woman or groups thereof. What would be their motives for including unattainable goals, injunctions, etc?

man doesn't live by bread alone but by "every" word as god.

It supports imagination/creativity. For some reason man is entertained by fantasy. There also exists the potential of man taking what has been imagined and creating a reality from it.

For example Heaven may not exist but the idea, the fantasy may inspire someone to create a heaven based on the idea/imagery.

Unattainable ingredients? Genetically modify what exists to be these ingredients.

Flight was unattainable for man, folks imagined the possibility and now man can fly, go to the moon etc.

Claiming something is unattainable is the catalyst for some folks to work to attain it. Been motivating scientists for years.

heaven/hell are both states of mind. what might be heaven for one person might be hell for another. to conquer, divide. to win, cooperate.
