Horror Movie Recommendations

I recently watched the It remake and absolutely loved the movie, and I'm planning to go on a horror-watching spree.

Two notes:

1) I'm looking for a scary horror movie, not a merely disgusting/gory one like Saw, The Human Centipede, etc.

2) Horror movies based on religious beliefs, like The Conjuring and The Exorcist, are very unlikely to scare or interest me, so I'd prefer something other than this type as well.

Any recommendations?

Even though it's not classic horror, I did love Cabin in the Woods for being a horror deconstruction. :)

Big fan of some older works like Alien, Changling and Poltergeist.

Newer horror isn' really my bag so much but if you don't mind subtitles The Orphanage (Spanish) and Let the Right One In (Swedish) were both great.

If you really want to push the age of the movies then I'd recommend House on Haunted Hill with Vincent Price or the 1963 version of The Haunting.

The Fog, 1980 version.

Some pretty good recommendations already. Silent Hill and The Ring are winners.

Lights Out and Crimson Peak were good ones, but I gotta say it’s hard to beat It, even against other Stephen King stuff.

By the way, if you like horror video games, SOMA is one of if not the best horror video games out there. Just slightly pushing past Amnesia for me.
Horror gets so much more tense when you'e interacting and trying not to die.
