Aww, not into torture porn and really sick ****? That's my fave. Oh, well. :p

I'll recommend from other categories, then:
The Return of the Living Dead (my personal favorite movie and a zombie horror comedy with punk rockers)
Hellraiser (the first 3 are worth it)
Evil Dead
Night of the Living Dead (I prefer the 1990 version, myself)
Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead
Pet Sematary
The Shining
Poltergeist
The Ring and the original Japanese movie, Ringu
Let the Right One In
Shaun of the Dead
28 Days Later
Quarantine
The Descent
Session 9
Grave Encounters
In the Mouth of Madness
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Silent Hill
Fright Night
Eraserhead
Event Horizon
Jacob's Ladder
Videodrome
The Thing
The Fog
Black Swan
The Cell
May
The Crazies (remake only; the original is really bad and hilarious on an unintentional way)

...I'll post more if I think of some more but that's a good start.

I just watched A Dark Song and the Ritual and those are really good.

Some more:

Drag me to hell
Candyman
The cabin in the woods
Rec
We are still here
A field in England
Shutter (Thai version)

ImmortalFlame

Woke gremlin

I recently watched the It remake and absolutely loved the movie, and I'm planning to go on a horror-watching spree.

Two notes:

1) I'm looking for a scary horror movie, not a merely disgusting/gory one like Saw, The Human Centipede, etc.

2) Horror movies based on religious beliefs, like The Conjuring and The Exorcist, are very unlikely to scare or interest me, so I'd prefer something other than this type as well.

Any recommendations?
Anything by Michael Moore.

It's My Birthday!
Halloween (1978)
Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
The Omen (1976)
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
The Howling (1981) (Forget all sequels :()

Don’t sell the ‘founding fathers’ short either
This is where they all came from

Frankenstein (1931)
Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
The Return of the Vampire (1943)
The Wolfman (1941)

I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House (2016)

It's slow, and left me with a couple questions, but definitely has that
whole atmospheric thing down.

Woberts

The Perfumed Seneschal
*cracks knuckles* let's do this!
* The Halloween franchise
*The Thing (1982)
*The Thing (2011 prequel with the same title for some reason)
*The Strangers (2008)
I'll probably add more as I think of them.
