Do you think it would have been better if he did nothing at all?Because if a man as rich as Trump really cared he would be donating tens of millions of dollars, not just 1 million, it shows what a cheapskate he is, IMHO.

A more awkward way to say it......Where the money originally came from or the political motives behind it are irrelevant. I just applaud charity and this is one of those cases.
It's the reasoning behind the donation that should be looked at. Given that this flood happened in Texas, etc, these are GOP base states. It's part of playing the 'conservative card.'Do you think it would have been better if he did nothing at all?
I do not give weight to skeptical hypothetical. They are useless and have no grounds because they don't exist, right? Reasoning is a factor, but in my opinion it is not an important one right now. We can play politics about this later. Bottom line is we need all the resources we can get and his contribution helps. It's the reasoning behind the donation that should be looked at. Now, if this disaster happened in commie land California, I doubt you'd see any donation or non-stop coverage of the event on GOP media.
Yep, that works too. In my home language we would say...A more awkward way to say it......
"If Trump is the procuring cause for a $1,000,000, then I applaud it."
I agree, but the intent is dishonest IMO. Someone advised him to do it to 'repair' his branding.I do not give weight to skeptical hypothetical. That may be true, I will give you that. We will see how it plays out. I just hope relief funds are allocated properly. That goes for all sources of financial assistance.I agree, but the intent is dishonest IMO. Someone advised him to do it to 'repair' his branding.
The government should be involved, the politics of this are that the majority of Texans view the government as evil. It's their words, not mine. Hopefully not too many bunkers were flooded. That may be true, I will give you that. We will see how it plays out. I just hope relief funds are allocated properly. We are shifting the discussion, sneaky sneak! The government should be involved, the politics of this are that the majority of Texans view the government as evil. It's their words, not mine. Hopefully not too many bunkers were flooded.

Well, it is true though. Just don't tell them that California is footing the bill for their state recovery. You also got to see the lack of regulations in action in Texas. I understand that regulations are safety laws and could possibly hurt profits, but they're necessary. We are shifting the discussion, sneaky sneak!
Whacha mean?Just don't tell them that California is footing the bill for their state recovery
I have a signature for you.....Well, it is true though. Just don't tell them that California is footing the bill for their state recovery. Trump will need the concrete for his wall, which is much more important to him than disaster relief or the economy.Would you prefer they do nothing? Also note, the 5.9 billion is the initial investment. I am certain they will apply for more as more concrete needs become apparent.
Paragraphs are our friend.Trump will need the concrete for his wall, which is much more important to him than disaster relief or the economy.
Ever notice how he always comes back to that fckn wall after any sidetrack?
The hurricane was another sidetrack for you to fall for so you and all of us do nothing that will serve us.
Does he EVER mention our economy here at home along with jobs and housing? NO.
Are rents, inflation and needless taxation of our very time still advancing silently? Yes.
Prove me wrong.
Maybe all you premium members out there don't see anything wrong, but neither does anyone else who thinks money and our consumer society based on forced debt is real.
All of you who are in debt right now who don't know how to grow food without store bought fertilizer and pesticides are doomed. Does ANYONE here know how to increase crop yields and reduce pest damage without store bought petrol chemical distillates? Those of us who will never have access to enough land and water to irrigate crops have no chance at anything other than forced labor without purpose or reward, criminal abuse and early death.
( I FOUND a way, but it will be taken out of my hands very shortly, never to return and i'm taking my knowledge and experience with it me to my grave. )
You take down that nut in our whitehouse or go down with him and i'll be happy to send TrSatanup's supporters down with him if they are violent uncontrollable morons.
If the rule of law is not for you, then you don't belong here, but you may actually now be the vaaaaassst majority, all waiting silently for the rule of law to break down enough to prevent your arrest and prosecution.
I'm partially speaking figuratively. I don't think anyone here is a secret monster and abuser waiting to pounce, but i don't know for sure.
What i do know for sure is that my little town Hemet, CA is owned, controlled and overrun by them and that many people are now trapped in their interrelations with them and each other, where as during better times past, many of these people would have prosecuted their abusers and gone their separate ways.
As for economy now, most working folks here are using their credit cards at the last 7 to 10 days of every month. So many women are having babies they cannot afford without public assistance and they literally run all day long just to keep their lives together. So many couples are having even more babies and buying up everything they can faster than they can pay for it! More than even they can even carry and move themselves without assistance so it just takes more TIME than they have to process all the resources they MUST CONSUME.
That can't be happening just here, as this is a very average American community.
5 paragraphs will be just the beginning of my delusion-smashing diatribes for the pathological delusions that don't disappear before i get to them.Paragraphs are our friend.
Promises promises. Given past history, I'll applaud only after the money is delivered and the check clears.I hadn't heard he donated $1,000,000.
What a criminal !
Lets put it this way, its like the equivalent of me donating 25c to the relief effort, should I be applauded for that???
Taxes don't work the way people often think.
If he has a 40% marginal tax rate, then donating $1,000,000 will cost him
$600,000 in after-tax money. So his doing it solely for a "tax break" makes
no sense because the $400,000 benefit cost him far more than that.
He did it either for PR or out of charity....or for both.
Ref.....
Did You?
