As long as they are not dragging fishing nets, they should get away with it ...

This is going to mean more redundancies because of brexit. Doubtful if the ports at Hollyhead and Pembroke can survive on holiday traffic alone

Skanky Old Mongrel!

The way that talks are going they may be able to drag a few trawl nets behind them on the way.

We're going to have to consider privateering and piracy I think.

How do you perceive the situation to be at this point?

I guess it is a French idea...
I have heard some Frenchmen want to turn French into the exclusive official language of the EU....because of Brexit.
Go figure...we communicate in English with ca. 24 states...or so...
French is a beautiful language but few know it...:p

French is the official language of diplomacy worldwide, the reason english is now used so much is because american diplomats have problems with learning.

As to keeping the french language its bugger all to do with brexit (i suppose its one of your project fear stories). The Académie Française has been around since well before brexit. On and off since the early 1600s

And there are 24 different languages used by the EU

The truth is that I speak 5 languages. Italian, French, Spanish, German and English of course. But if I need to speak with Hungarians or Poles, I will speak in English.
I will use English with Danes, Swedes, Greeks, Russians...and English is such a fundamental language because in Greece, in Slavic countries, in Scandinavia they all use English as mandatory second language. French is not used in those countries.

Which is why your QAnon story is what we said it was - BS

I think it was in Fawlty Towers when the Major or some other upper class quest said to a foreigner...
"Can't you speak English"
"Non"
"Can't you try?"

I did hear Belgians and other French speakers say that.
You know...the likes of Verhofstadt?
I did not mean to say it is what they will do.
But as usual...the failure of the EU is due to the fact that small countries like Belgium feel entitled to dictate things to big powers like UK...etc...;)

Yes english has become ubiquitous, that doesnt mean there is a move to convert the EU to French as you suggested
