The Tories are not civil servants. They were elected to be the masters of the civil servants on our behalf.

The Tories are appointing un-elected peers to run departments - those are the swamp creatures they are appointing.
Remember the tories got about 43% of the votes polled; turnout was about 66%, so out of those able to votes they got about 30% of the voting population - but with our electoral system that is a landslide

It is a more honourable card to play than the let’s continue to let the EU rule over us card that some like to play.

We wrote most of the EU rules, now if we want to trade with them we will have to follow their rules.

The EU does have agreements and rules, and I assume that non-members have different ones than members. And now those non-members rules could change to suit the current members without GB having a vote.
What am I missing here?

Other countries trade with the EU without having to submit to being ruled over by the EU.
The UK buys more from the EU than it sells to the EU so they have a lot to lose.

Come on NotaNumber you must understand that you can't trade with a nation(s) if you don't meet their specification. They simply won't buy what we are selling if it is not to their requirements, they'll go elsewhere.
That's why we will have to abide with their regulations, with no say in them, if we have any hope of remaining our most important trading partner.
