How could Jesus take the sins of humanity upon himself? Is it because God created us imperfect and is therefore responsible for all the sins of humanity, and wanted to make up for it by having his son take responsibility for those sins? But why put his own son through all the pain. An apology would do just fine, I think. I would forgive God. If God told me that he wanted to do more than apologize, and sacrifice his own son, I would advise God against this because its unnecessary. Its just causing unnecessary pain. Eternal life in paradise for everyone would be a far better way to make up for it.
Aren't we responsible for our own sins? Shouldn't we have to do the work in order to try to make things right? How could someone ever feel justified if they didn't take responsibility for their own sins?
Do you want someone else to take responsibility for your own sins? I don't. I don't think its fair for that person to take responsibility for the things that I've done wrong. I don't think its fair to me either. I did the wrongs, so its rightfully my responsibility to try to make up for them.
Would we convict an innocent, good man to life in prison because he wants to take responsibility for someone elses crimes? I think thats extremely unreasonable.
