How do people stay sane and happy in a world of misery?

I’m taking this threads advice and I am not watching the news anymore. It is bad for the mental in my case I think. The thread titles of RF will be more than enough to depress me and keep me informed at any rate… besides that, I’m living under a rock.
I function a lot better under my rock.

Nice! Curious, do they like it for the aesthetic value or do they recognize the album cover?

I had most of my History in middle school, but I also had some in community college. It was mostly about Western Civ. I also know some of the middle east History, a tad about Africa and a smidge about South America. History and Biographies can be interesting if done right.

I don't think my History education is very thorough, but its enough to help me shrink the news down into its proper size. I also avoid the 'Journalists' discussing what they think about politicians and gobbling about who did what stupid thing. They draw you into policy discussions, and that's good. They are alarmist though. That is bad.

My impression is that a lot of people stay in their own little bubble, and stick their head in the sand a lot of the time. I can't say I blame them.
