How Do We Know Jesus is Living Amongst Us?

…and how do some not know? Is it because some feel his presence while others do not, or is it deeper than that? I mean, why is there division? The knowledge of Jesus’ return is unlike anything. It’s unbelievable and incredibly special and yet some don’t know. Why don’t we all see it? It seems kind of strange to me. Maybe someone here can shed some light on my dumbfoundedness.

Through God's Holy Spirit, he dwells within every child of God. This is called the "Spirit of Christ" in Romans 8:9

This actually makes a lot of sense.

The problem is, when you begin to use these internal experiences as evidence for any one faith, you have to allow for the same experiences others have in all faiths, or no faith at all.

I guess it's the same reason people don't see the invisible, pink dragon in my garage. They simply don't want to see it.

The Bible says the "day of the Lord" comes "as a thief in the night". Presumably Christians tie the "day of the Lord" to Christ. Clearly that implies something very hard to see unless you're really carefully looking for something subtle and easy to miss.

Ask Jesus. If he is present he should be able to answer.

Zoroastrianism: Holy Spirit - "source of life"
Catholic Creed: Holy Spirit - "giver of life"

The concept of "Holy Spirit" is something that Zoroastrianism and Judaism have in common.

"Although in Jewish scripture the Holy Spirit is never presented as a person..."

I see this and other changes such as "consubstantial" instead of "one in being" as tiny incremental steps towards monotheism.

"B is 'consubstantial' with A", has connotations of "B is 'like' A". Whereas "one in being" terminology expresses a more tight binding.
God is a living being. Jesus, Gods son, is a living being. The spirit of truth, which is the relationship between God and Jesus is a living being, as well as the spirit between God and ordinary men.

Baha'is believe that the Spirit of truth is Baha'u'llah, who is a living being now living in heaven with God and Jesus.

The spirit is still around and while we may not all view this the same, it's difficult to deny remembrance. Truth (holy spirit) is always present, and there's a few reasons we may not be able to receive it. Wayside, rocks, thorns and prepared ground is how I view that specific. We receive it when we're ready. It's a process.

It's important to note that authorship of the book of Romans has been a subject of scholarly inquiry and debate. Some modern biblical scholars have raised questions about authorship and suggest the possibility of contributions from other individuals.
That doesn’t matter to me. What does matter to me is if when I read something it resonates and makes sense to me.
