How do you read 'Lol'?

If I were asked how I pronounced it. It would probably be 'lul' as in lull..

Don't you mean /lɑl/? The rounded /ɒ/ is not too commonly used in English.
Nope, /ɒ/ is correct here.

/ɒ/ isn't rare in some dialects (although it's quite rare in American dialects IIRC -- but I'm not from America or Canada). Out of all of the dialects, though, it is pretty rare, being replaced with /ɑ/ or even /ɔ/ in some dialects. Mine, though, uses /ɒ/. :)

An added quirk, my dialect doesn't use /ʌ/, but merges it with /ʊ/. So it's /bʊk/, /fʊt/, for book, foot, etc.
