Hey guys, how's it going?

So, how do you receive flirting?

Let's say you're a man/woman getting, for example, "hey sugar/baby/beautiful/handsome" from another man/woman, or the other way around. How would you feel about it?

As for me, I'd accept it at any weight from women even if it gets too heavy, but from another man it depends on my relationship with him and their nature, but in much less weight that from women.

How about it, lovely RF members ;)

I'm not a flirty person by nature with anyone other than my husband.

I'm naturally inclined to turn around and beat the crap out of someone who is reducing me to meat via cat call or lascivious commentary.

A thoughtful compliment can be flattering, but, the type of flirting that I've experienced makes me want to pack heat even more. I have no trust in or tolerance for people inclined to violate my personal space. As a married woman without interest in flirtatious engagement outside of my marriage - I would consider any such advances to be just that.

This is a beautiful post, and one I don't see much of in the culture.

I really really respect that.

I personally would never flirt with anyone unless I know for certain that they want it, let alone fine with it. I'm not married now, but if/when I get married, I would completely forget about anything flirtation and devote myself to my wife.

From my experiences, context seems to draw the lines of appropriateness, and in contexts in which the intent is clearly sexual, it becomes a fun game with an anticipated climax.

Body language and delivery of [whatever you happen to be saying] is everything from a male perspective. So much can be lost in translation; sometimes it's even more fun that way.

Harmless flirting is part of a lot of social interaction. If there's an overture in it the trick is to recognize the value in the compliment and turn it aside gently, with appreciation. I mean if you're not interested in more than the flirtation, of course...No sense in hurting anyone's feelings for saying they find you interesting. I was more of a flirt in my twenties. The older I get the less serious all that seems to me.

And I can be a bit oblivious from time to time. I was on a date once without realizing that's what it was...life.

I take flirting as a compliment from a woman regardless of how it comes off. Though I respond in kind to the girls that aren't overly sleazy sounding and have a degree of subtlety to their game. The girls that come off as horny I just give a smile and walk away

I think it's important to remember that if someone is reducing you to a piece of meat it's their issue, not yours. I've had women reduce me to that many times. And I always feel complimented and sexy as result, though at the same time turned off. I think women are much more sensitive to being viewed as simply a piece of *** than a guy is because of oppression and a lack of opportunity that comes from misogyny. Guys have the luxury of being able to appreciate it for what it is

I don't mind flirting. With those I know it's all in fun anyway, and with those I don't know, it depends on how it's done. I've had numerous "sleazy" flirts in my lifetime and about as many, if not more, sweet ones. The sleazy ones I tend to ignore or walk away from (or flat out tell off if they don't get the hint). The sweetly done ones tend to make me blush and smile a bit.

Like, just last week I had stopped in the gas station to get some coffee and this really young guy working there was walking around stocking stuff and singing along to the radio and just as he passed me and he sang one particular romantic lyric he stopped, looked at me, smiled, and said, "that's right, I'm talking to you" smiled again and went back to what he was doing. See now, that just makes smile. That's how it's done. ;)

I honestly dunno what I'd do if a woman flirts with me. Maybe I'd just run away in fear.

As much as I'm scared of women, I'd like one to flirt with me one day :D

Um, please don't worry about my birthday. I don't celebrate it really. But I do appreciate any kind of blessing I receive

You're absolutely right :)

It is just that I'm kinda traditionalist. I do say my blessing to my friends from other cultures for their birthdays.
