If you believe a god or gods communicate with you, precisely how does it, or do they do that? Through nature? Revelation? Do you hear voices or see visions? Is there a "small, still voice inside"? Or via some other means?
How do you make sure it's a god or gods that is communicating with you?
How do you know what it is communicating is true and/or beneficial?
I'm noticing more and more thst what I experience daily people say is from god. I guess it comes naturally for some to attribute events and mysterious things to an outside party especially if it happens enough times to say it's more than a coincidence.
God, this experiences, talks when you are open to receive. In other words, it's not special but you become more in touch with yourself (or what god says that you interpret as) you get in touch with god. It's s verbal and conscientious meditation confirmed by events and mindfulness one has and experiences in life. It's not oral, though some have it very deeply it's a still voice telling them everything is good but most I know say this voice is inner and can't be described.
Sometimes I think I need to grab my keys or for something before I leave the house. Since I'm aware of it, I double check myself and decide I don't. I look back and have w "feeling" that I should go back. I don't know why but something may happen if I don't. (I think god is trying to tell me something). I ignore this inner voice.
On the way out, I think I need run to the store. I open my car door, look on my pockets, no key. I knew it. God was telling me I should have got those keys. I reach for the door handle and felt something against my skin. Lifting myself, I round my keys smashed in the leather seat (I don't remember I left it here accidently) thank you god, I say. I grab my keys.
It's confirmation bias. I had that same experience but without keys and I didn't say god did it. I knew there was something. Sometimes I think it's my aunt or grandmother's spirit but other times I just say thank you.
I've heard the same experience from a Muslim saying it's god. Even on RF some similar earthly experiences a Hindu has (in a DIR) is attributed to god in their own unique way.
That's how god communicates: through your experiences and actions. It's being open to events you take for granted. It's finding means to say thank you and basically, god is the sense of self that makes you comfortable that their is an origin to what you can't describe.
Culture, scripture, rituals, etc confirm these experiences as from gods. From my understanding, observation, and personal experience with communicating with god, it's a mental thing.
But mental sounds off to many people so mystic or divine is words they use to describe their communication with life, self, and others without making it a product of the physical world.
This type of communication is all throughout history. It's explained in many different ways from some forms of Paganisms or religions apart from Christian, Muslim, and jewish views.
I don't know when skeptics came about. Maybe during the philosophers day with the Greeks. It wasn't always so. People still look throughout history (scripture) to confirm their experiences. If it happens to the people then, it happens to them now.
