How does god speak to you?: Christians ONLY!

Hello

This is a question for christians only: Im curious to know how does god speak to you? How does he reveal things to you? How does he communicate with you?

I truly believe that he does; through prayer and meditation. Mostly, I believe that he "tells me" when I come to understand something that hitherto was a mistery to me.

It is as if he says "Yes" - I get a strange feeling which is one that I only ever experience in such occasions.

First I'd like to say that I don't believe there is a set way that God speaks to every one. I've come to believe that God truly respects the diversity his created intelligences and intimately knows what methods of communication are best and most effective to get the attention of His children. The Bible is universally considered the supreme source of God communication/inspiration for Christian believers. But since I don't really read this book much any more it's not my supreme source. I've learned to follow three distinct methods that I am convinced God (Spirit) uses to communicate with me. 1. The inner Voice.
A soft and gentle voice that makes discreet suggestions or comments when I am talking with God or thinking of spiritual subjects. (There's more but in the interest of time...) 2. The spiritual dream. This is the most profound of my experiences and the one I've come to trust without question. In these are sights, sounds, smells, experiences, and feelings which give me a sort of 3D view of God's message. I've had dozens of these over the years. They have never failed to inspire me, and always leave me in awe of God's love and attentiveness to my life. I'm always deeply grateful to Him when He gives me a dream. 3. The "Presence". This one is difficult to expain and might sound a little weird. It is exclusively personal and subjective, for is an actual experience for me, and has been since Sept. 7, 1986. It is really constant but becomes more intense when I am in a state of deeper sincerity when talking with God. This is an actual ability to perceive God's presence within me and around me. In this I am consciously aware of God's actual indwelling of my own soul. The sensation can only be described as a sharing of consciousness'. Him in me looking out of my eyes. And I can feel. Some people look up to the sky and say, "yeah, He's up there somewhere. I just look within and say "Boy, if only I could touch somebody and share with them the gift God gave me. He's not up there, He's IN HERE!!" When I received THIS gift from God I never again questioned His existence. It was like Holy Moley! God really IS real!!

most often through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, through Scripture, through circumstance, and through prayer.

sometimes i'll be praying for something, then will realize, quietly, that this prayer request may sound good, but it's not God's will. it's the prompting of the Holy Spirit. so i'll change my direction, ask God's will to be done, and ask for greater clarity and obedience, too. or the Spirit will prompt me to pray for someone or about a certain issue. so through prayer, God helps me to understand His will and how He would like me to interact with Him vocally and practically.

He speaks to me through the Bible, through revealing His will via circumstance (doors which close or open), and through my conscience.

Through all things God speaks. I listen for the small still voice that is Holy Spirit living in me. Also through signs and omens, saveaments, prayer, and prophets.
