How does one come to understand God's Word?

No the Ten

I have the mind of Christ, but it is only that his thoughts will be my thought when he wants it to happen. Otherwise my mind is still just a function of my human flesh.

You can not just sit there waiting it has to be sought after.
The Adam mind has encumbrance on it. These hold the mind from total renewal and believing in God, from that perspective.

There are stray thoughts, memories of the past with associations and friends.
Every thought has to brought into the captivity and obedience of Christ. (the anointing of)

If this is done the nature of Jesus is found as it covers the old and God energizes the Love in that nature. It is possible to be a partaker of the divine nature.

It would be impossible to write on the internet because the difficulty in the comprehension requires too much brain power.
The old mind has to be let go.

Garbage! I never sought after anything that I know about God, Jesus came to me, and asked me to give him my life.

Jesus told me he would teach me, and I never once went out of my way to learn anymore then what Jesus wanted me to learn.

In fact Jesus once told me audibly, that I was to stop trying to figure him out, and just follow him.

Jesus said he would call his own out by name, and they would follow him. Follow Jesus means do as, and go where Jesus leads.

Yes scripture says seek and you shall find, but that was find Jesus, not knowledge.

Knowledge is given to us, and only that knowledge which God choses to give.

Ask yourself do you still commit wrongdoings/sin? If you do then it is not God that is teaching you.

If you do not sin, then stop thinking and let God teach you.

Do you hear the Holy Spirit/Jesus?

If not how then if God is teaching you if he is?

There is something to overcome we are told there is.

It is own mind and it must be renewed, the question is how. The apostle Paul writes about this and I would say it is correct from experience and I was lead through it.

NO! There is nothing for us to overcome. We can’t overcome anything. It is through the grace of the Holy Spirit that we overcome. And we can’t take any credit for that.

The only thing I ever did was say yes to God’s call, and to his request to give him my life. And I could not have done that but for the grace God gave to me.

A Christian receives the Holy Spirit, and then does what the Holy Spirit tells him or her to do, and if the person is willing to obey God, the he or she will receive the grace to obey.

That is why Paul said it is not by works one will enter the kingdom of God. Paul assumed people understood that it is God’s work in and through a person that one does that allows him or her to enter the kingdom of God.

We're not on the same page with this subject. I don't think you have read what has been written. It is like an echo with misunderstanding.

Allen, you have not answered any of my questions. Why is that true?

I have a word for you, and this is all unless my questions get answered.

Jesus tells me you need to stop thinking, and pray to hear what the Holy Spirit has to say to you.

NO! There is nothing for us to overcome.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

There is no need to strive against another person or overcome them.

But it is all within own self.

Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

So you can’t answer my questions. Also you have no idea of what the scripture you quoted is saying.

I am not a teacher and don’t care that you have no understanding of scripture, so you go your way, and like Jesus told me you have a bumpy road ahead.

Mat 10:17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

A Spiritual Christian no longer needs to be given a word from an apostle/prophet,or any man.

A Spiritual Christian does not need to strive to do what is right. God always gives a Spiritual Christian the grace to overcome anything. It is God who does the work for a Spiritual Christian.

A Spiritual Christian is being taught by God.

(1 John 2: 27) “But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; the anointing he gave teaches you everything: you are anointed with truth, not with a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him.”

Infants in Christ, are not yet spiritual, and need to be given words by men, apostles/prophets. Such people still sin, and have not been taught by God.

Infants is Christ know God only in their minds, and they have no spiritual knowledge of God.

(1 Corinthians 3:1-3) “Brothers, I myself was unable to speak to you as people of the Spirit; I treated you as sensual men, still infants in Christ. What I fed you with was milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it; and indeed, you are still not ready for it since you are still unspiritual. Isn’t that obvious from all the jealousy and wrangling that there is among you, from the way that you go on behaving like ordinary people?”

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Going to a seminary to study the bible, and other people’s understanding of the bible does not bring one to an understanding of God’s written Word.
If you want to understand the Bible, remember the whole world will be deceived; Revelations more or less points directly at the Roman Catholic church, and its children (Christianity).
Thus question everything, even the ground you walk on; as you never know if the books themselves led to the deception in the first place. :innocent:

Yes the whole world is deceived but where does this come from. My contention is that it is within the mind of every one. It is within own mind. This is scriptural but not generally understood and is diverted away with the idea that other people have problems, but I don't because I am saved and lead by God.
There needs to be an explanation of the messed up personality and behavior.

Lucifer stood and magnified himself above God.

The spirit of Lucifer is Satan and he stands in the personality and magnifies one self belief as opposed to another. This is the penalty of a rebellious nature and sin where the mind does not measure up and misses the mark.

Adam's consciousness and mind is passed on and every one learns the responses out of an encumbrance within it. Every unrepentant mind is unruly and rebellious attempting to get subconsciously into another persons mind.
Own barriers are there for safety and need to be strong. Some people are gullible and some are perpetrators in any situation.

Within the mind there are promptings and temptation that are acted on or not but the will can be captured to act out in reality. The imagination with invention and also memory are not seen for what they are.

Everyone is caught in a web of experience and learning in all human endeavor. Satan sits in it as a ruler.

The scriptures relate a way of escaping this realm of the mind that is ruled by Satan and it is not superficial.
Escape is found when lead by the spirit and inner changes are made that reveal the divine nature and the Love in that nature being fully energized by God.
This is the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God is where God makes a home. Where God is that is his kingdom.

(John 14:21) “Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.”

(John 14: 23) “Anyone who loves me will keep my word and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him.”

Jesus said he would love those who kept his commandments. Also Jesus Christ said he would show himself to those he loved.

You who read this, has Jesus shown himself to you?

Also Jesus said he would call his own out by name.

Has Jesus called you out by name?

(John 10:1-5)"I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."

Notice Jesus said his people know his voice. Does that not mean one has to hear Jesus to be able to know his voice?

I am trying to share that there is a spiritual walk with God that has been missing in God’s Church, for a long time.

There are four main tools anyone can use to better understand the Bible:

1. Treat the Bible exactly the same as any other foreign book written long ago--use context, look up stuff from the original languages.

2. Treat it like a perfect math book of perfect formulae. It cannot contradict itself and if you are ever stuck on one verse, see if #1 is lacking above on that verse or find another verse to solve for X.

3. Ask Jesus to help you understand it, and believe that He can do it. Don't worry about being weak or feeble in your mind to understand it.

4. Obey the Bible. This is the main reason people either soar in Jesus or wind up hating Him, the ability to follow or else not follow the Bible's commands. How we use our free will directly, often and daily, expands how well or how poorly we really understand the Bible.

You are right, but that does not mean one can come to know God, by understanding the bible.

Unless one allows Jesus/Holy Spirit to teach him or her there is no way to know God.

(1 Corinthians 2:10-13) “These are the very things that God has revealed to us through the Spirit, for the Spirit reaches the depts. Of everything, even the depths of God. After all, the depths of a man can only be known by his own spirit, not by any other man, and in the same way the depths of God can only be known by the Spirit of God”

Do you think my #3 above will cover 1 Cor 2?

Thanks.

I don’t agree with number one.

Jesus told me the bible is his written Word, and He lets me know, and understand his message. I don’t believe looking up the original language is at all necessary.

Jesus/Holy Spirit knows what the bible’s message is, and can translate it better that anyone.

Also most people have no real idea of how God actually instructs his people. Very few believe God talks to him or her, and tells them what scripture is saying.

(1 John 2: 27) “But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; the anointing he gave teaches you everything: you are anointed with truth, not with a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him.”

The disciples of Jesus were personally taught by Jesus for three years. Yet Jesus told them that he would send them the Holy Spirit to let them understand the complete truth.

(John 16:13) “But when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth, since he will not be speaking as from himself but will say only what he has learnt; and he will tell you of the things to come.”

The only way one can come to know God is to have God lead him or her.

(1 Corinthians 2:10-13) “These are the very things that God has revealed to us through the Spirit, for the Spirit reaches the depts. Of everything, even the depths of God. The only thing I would have to say about that is, I read the New Testament about 200 times before it really clicked, of course that goes with belief, and prayer.
