How does your God feel about entertainment?

How much time should one spend for entertainment? In what ways is it allowed or not allowed? Is God entertained?

Of course God is entertained. He made this:

I think as long as one gets done what one absolutely needs to get done, when it needs to get done, one can spend as much time on entertainment as one likes. Even better if one finds one's responsibilities entertaining as well. :)

It probably shouldn't be allowed in instances where it violates the golden rule or the equivalent thereof.

I do believe God is entertained, yes.

What I wonder is why religious fundamentalists such as puritan-type christians and muslims such as the taliban are so against anything that gives pleasure. Is it to keep people always feeling guilty? Is it to keep the pleasure police always feeling superior?

Perhaps, and/or it could be out of a fear of overstepping what they perceive as God's boundaries on something and missing their chance at salvation as a result. Having had a fear of going to hell at one time myself, such a fear can be a major inhibitor.

On a somewhat related note, what has really amazed me is how religious writings that depict God Himself experiencing pleasure in a specifically romantic capacity are often reinterpreted and hyper-spiritualized to mean something other than what the accounts appear to plainly state. Not that there can't be a spiritual angle to such accounts, of course there can be; literal events can be seen as metaphors for higher truths. But, evidently, the practice of also taking such accounts at face-value, without the puritanical spin-doctoring, is frowned upon by some. I, for one, see no need to friend-zone one's chosen deity if the addition of a romantic element enhances and strengthens the relationship.
