How far has mankind fallen?

Well said! There is no point in trying to hide our failures. And they are dismall. Its better to bring it to light, so that we can honestly have a good look at ourselves and change for the better. But i am not confident that mankind is able to look at himself honestly without some sort of 'honesty'. If humanity has lied to themselves in every concievable way they can, how then will they recongnise anything other than a lie? Even operate without it? Is it possible for this machine of self-deception to turn around?

I think it's because, since we're still a relatively young species, we're not mature enough as a species to look at ourselves in the light of Truth. It's too scary for the human race as a whole. Granted, there are a few who are closer to being able to do so than the rest, but as a whole, we're terribly blinded.

Yes, but there is a reality down here on earth. Mankind was created good. What happened. Me myself and I is what happened. What to do about it? For you i guess it would mean mastering your mind. If mankind has fallen all by themselves, would it not be a bit presumptious to assume that the same mind that made them fall is the same mind that can give them utopia back.

Perhaps to mature as a race, we NEED to get OURSELVES out of the mess we put ourselves in.

(Disclaimer: the following question I ask is made from my understanding of your beliefs from your posts, and I'm assuming you believe in divine intervention)
What if getting ourselves out of this mess is the test that the higher powers have set for us? Is it really fair to ask for the answers when we're supposed to study for ourselves?

We are constantly learning (or at least we're supposed to be) and life is our teacher. Who are we to ask for the answer key?

Excellent point. But how would mankind take responsiblity for its mistakes if few are willing to admit it.

Perhaps as a race,whatever we have baked we must eat. Someone needs to change the recipe though, cause history keeps on repeating itself. Its just the icing that changes and then we call it progression.

Think of the human race as a gigantic class and life is the teacher. There are a few that understand the subject, and the rest need a bit of tutoring. If we, as a class, want to pass, we have to tutor the rest, should they want tutoring.

I honestly don't think so. We are quite a wasteful species and much of the world's suffering (human, animal, and otherwise) has been our fault. If we don't change our ways soon, we're screwed. It may even be too late already.

Yes, friend it is through the same mind.
Utopia/eden is what the Earth IS but the THINKING mind never allows one to see it as it is perceiving with biased opinions, Still that same Mind and one is HERe-NOW in the garden of eden.

Hello zen

Even if the mind is here and now...and the moment matters, the past is a resume that can not be erased. The countless here and now moments of the entire human civilization has led them to this point. Which could be the point of no return. Perhaps living in the now with an incling to the fruits it will reap in the future for our children and our grandchildren is commendable.

Never mind utopia, we are looking here at a planet we can atleast stay on.

The earth is mans home. I dont think that any amount of dodging the responsibility for what we have done with it...be that by future, past, present thinking, or whether the earth will be around for eons to come or not, is going to change the fact that we have fallen out of harmony with nature,with each other, and with many other things.

If we have made this problem with our minds, then we must fix it, and that with the same mind that broke it. And therein lies the dillema.

Agree with you that most humans are not in harmony but there are also those who are in harmony. Those who are in disharmony have to do it individually is what have been trying to get across this cannot happen as a mass exercise. Yes it is fixable. There is no dilemma anywhere except individual will to go with it.

I agree that people have to do it individually. But since we all feed off of each others' energies, I believe that once more and more people begin to "awaken," it will become a snowball effect, gathering more and more people and momentum.

Yes, that is called a BUDDHA field!
For that to happen it needs individuals of like NO-MINDS to meditate together.
But that to happen, individuals has to start on their own first and reach to that no-mind individually before a buddha field happens.
