Just do it!
One of my favorite women ever is a "big girl". She always has been.
She was terribly self conscious about it. Then a guy, who was a good photographer, talked her into posing. As she relaxed, and let go of her assumptions about other people's opinions, she blossomed or something. The photos were great! She started seeing herself differently. She started seeing her own beauty without filtering it through TV ads and teenaged boys opinions.
It was quite liberating for her. Astonishing really.

After college (when I can't get punished by the people who pay for everything), I do hope to do some things along those lines. I'm slowly starting to get more comfortable in my skin, thanks to the efforts of my boyfriend, who has always just loved me as I am, and Nietzsche, who's done more for my confidence and self-esteem than I could ever thank him for. Going from a little kid who has been belittled for being "fat and ugly" since the earliest school days by peers and even some family to a woman who can comfortably show off her body (not just erotically, but every day when I leave the house) seems like an impossible task, but thanks to those two, and every guy like you who can see some kind of beauty in a big girl, it's starting to look more and more possible.
Sorry to get all deep on ya', but yeah, it really is the little things that can bring someone out of their shell, just like you said. I'll tell
@Nietzsche to get a camera.
