How to get onto a Terrorist Watch List

Mark Ruffalo — actor or terrorist? You decide.

Everyone in Hollywood has their causes, but we doubt Mark Ruffalo had any idea what was in store for him when he organized screenings of the anti-fracking documentary Gasland.

Ruffalo, star of the indie drama The Kids Are All Right, says in this month’s GQ that his little screening parties attracted the attention of Pennsylvania’s Office of Homeland Security, which added his name to a terror advisory list. Ruffalo, far from being outraged, said he found the incident amusing, CNN reports:

“It’s kind of raaadical,” added the 43-year-old star, who will battle bad guys as the Hulk in the 2012 superhero ensemble “The Avengers.”

Gasland, which made the Oscar short list for documentaries partly due to unconventional screenings like Ruffalo’s, angered the natural gas industry for what Energy In Depth characterizes as a tendency to go for simplification over accuracy, as laid out here.

It's good that Homeland Security is guarding us against activist actors.
I feel safer. Don't you?

GREAT use of our tax dollars, don't you think?
I think you've already guessed my thoughts on that one.
I am a seething cauldron of rage, desperately trying to remain civil, & often failing.

I know of someone who is on the watch list. He's a frequent traveler, so much so that he even knows the TSOs at one airport. They know
he shouldn't be on the list, but they aren't able to alter it, so he's stopped & given much attention every time simply because they must do
as they're directed. They can't fix it, & their superiors either won't or also can't.

I have no problem in keeping tabs on dangerous criminals like Dr. Banner. Should we turn a blind eye to all the property destruction he's responsible for? Do you want him getting mad while on the red eye to New York? Should we just let super criminals like the Leader run free?
