How to make a Pentagram

How to make beautiful and effective Pentagrams cheap and easy with everyday items.

The Pentagram that I currently use is made of black thick posterboard and thin 1/2 inch ductape. I first traced a 13 inch diamater circle out of the posterboard and cut it out. I then used ductape to surround the circle. I then traced with a pencil a geometerically accurate pentagram inside the circle, leaving room where the points of the pentagram don't quite touch the circle as in the Pentagram of Set. I then used the lines of the pentagram to place the ductape, I then cut out using a precesion cutter to cut away the excess tape to make sharp angles at each point of the pentagram. I then used a pen with silvery ink to color in the ductape and, thus, you have a very beautiful evocative pentagram to use during ritual.

Another techique you might want to try is find a large round mirror. Make sure you clean it off good. Then using 1/2 inch ductape place the tape at centeral points on the mirrow to form a pentagram. Make sure the lines of the pentagram are stright and not bulging in or out. Then use a can of flat black spray paint and cover the entire mirrow liberally in black spray paint. Wait until the paint dries completely and remove the tape very carefully. You can also use a thick piece of round glass, spraying one side either white or silver and the other with flat black pray paint.

The end result is a nice evocative altar piece or plaque to place above your altar.

All the items mentioned above can be found at any hobby store.

That is a wonderfully creative and crafty idea, especially for the wallet! Thank you for sharing that, I especially liked the second mirror idea. I'm sure it will benefit others.

I think it is important to remember that the most important thing in making your own stuff is what works for you. I travel more than I am home, so I have made a very simple portable altar. My pentacle is hand drawn and not geometrically perfect, but it feels right for me and it works. In case you want a peek, here it is with my familiar laying by it. ;)

Enchanted One,

It is the work you put into your Magical creations, perfect or not. It is the creative Work of the Self that gives it it's true Magic.

Agreed. I know LHP folks don't worship like I do, but when I am putting my time and effort into making something I see it as a form of worship as well as dedication to my magick. I eventually hope to replace most of my bought stuff with homemade stuff. The Athame is going to be breathtaking.

That's cool. You know on the Church of Satan website they are selling Sigil of Baphomet wall plaques for $200.00:rolleyes: (they are however very well made and detailed). But it takes away the creativity and Magic of one making their own sigils. I made one of my own SoB a long time ago when I was a Satanist with just black poster board, pencil, and a silver colored ink pen, all of which cost me only $15.00.

BTW, my cat Samael likes to jumb atop my altar, sometimes he'll just lay there and other times a find him sitting and stairing at my Pentagram of Set which hangs above my altar. I think a lot of animals can sense metaphysical activity. Especially dogs and cats.

Yes, I use a new Pentagram during every Working. Depending on the focus of the Working, I'll create it in accordance to the Rite. If the aim of my Working is to fortify my shield, i will cut out a Steel disk and put ball Bering's in place to create the star on a bed of ocean sand (because ocean sand is pounded and smashed for Milena and still its there)

But if the Working is for, lets say..... destruction of a vice or hindrance, strip naked for it. Then would use clothing strips from the article of clothing i wore during my "screw up" and burn them accordingly to represent the end of it. Then put on entirely new set of clothes which represents a new beginning, a new start.

Every Working, for me, is different...i'm very eclectic and brutally honest when creating the pentagram and what it represents. It is the most important focus you can create and Work with if Sigil Art and Magic is your gig.

i love your cat's name.

I like it too.

I have four dogs since they were 8 weeks old... 3 Doberman Pinschers 4yrs old (brothers) Abaddon, Belial, Memnoch and 1 Old English Bulldog 1yr old, female named Lilith.

I love them more than anything, sincerely! Not even my wife comes close to the love of my dogs. (Sorry baby doll) lol..

I named my cat after the Samael in the "Diabolicon". In that document Samael was actually the first angel to rebel against God, the Divine Mindlessness. Samael released the Black Flame from his mind, revealing it to all in Heaven. It's radiance showered forth in prismic light. God, displeased with this commanded Samael to be destroyed. Samael was the only rebel angel to actually be obliterated. This inspired Lucifer to rise up and lead the rebellion against the tyranical law of God. Thus began the war in Heaven.

So I thought I'd name my cat in honor of Samael.

I hope you´re kidding. They´re just dogs. What is to love about them?

I hope you're kidding. What does this have to do with anything? If the man wants to love rocks or trees, it is his individual right. Mind your own self, please.

This is off topic anyway and nothing of positive value will result from such a discussion.
