Humorous but I have not known about fairies actually being real till recently.

People swear they interact with fairies daily and leave offerings for their "house fairies".

I didnt know people go out and the woods to summon them either This is all new info.

There is a section for humor, this is not it.

Fairies: never again.

No, seriously. I had some experimentation with the dark fey or whatever they are called through my ex girlfriend. Never again. No, no that was crazy. But maybe she was just crazy. I saw a few things I can't easily explain it was so bizarre.

All I know is I don't like fairies now.

Why would this be humor? Fairies are part of folklore. Historically, people *did* leave offerings to fairies in the woods. Is it so hard to believe that there are Neo-Pagans or other people who still practice these kinds of things?

Yeah...I think humor is good and knew there would be some on this topic, but I was even more interested in people who have actually experienced Fairies.

I've never heard anyone explain their encounters with them (at least not with a straight face ) until yesterday.

So, the fairy that you encountered was a bad one I assume right?

My understanding of what a fairy was, was way off. I thought they were homosapiens that Twirl with tutus ,sparkling slippers , and wand , singing, making Merry, levitating, and sprinkling children fairy dust

Just recently found out they aren't human at all , but neither are they Immortal , and sometimes commit suicide. And apparently they're locked in a civil war.

Trying to figure out what the risks are.

How big are they? Can they fit in the palm of a hand?
If you want to know what the risks are, read up on the original folklore--not the modern crap about them. There are, however, some modern stories that are consistent with the old tales, such as the fae that told the engineer in Iceland to stop construction for a week or so while her family moved out of the way, then came back and informed him it was now safe to continue the building project.

They are not like Tinkerbell, or most of the other modern depictions, and you don't want to tick them off. They have their own things to do in life, and being called upon by a human just to satisfy a humans curiosity is not something that makes them happy. And, their idea of a good time is probably not what you'd like to have happen. Unless you have a real need to get them to help you (about something that should help them, too), just be nice to them: leave them a little food, glittery things, music and song, laughter. They'll be more disposed to treat you fairly when you do call upon them.

The entire court was dark/bad. It wasn't an issue until we broke up... that's when it got crazy.

She actually had a lot of issues. It didn't mix well with her beliefs and practices or sense of identity. Anywhos when it came to faries she showed me both the light and dark courts or seelie and unseelie or whatever they are called. I don't know how much of the lore she told me was real or how much was from fiction.
What I do know is that there was some bizarre things.

After we broke up a bunch of the dark fairies targeted me or at least the ones who didn't like me. It eventually stopped after a month or two but it wasn't fun. I hadn't ever seen some of that type of phenomena either before or after being with her.

Honestly I think she might of been using some form of trickery because of this, seeing as how it didn't totally reflect how I normally perceive magic and spirits.

Why would you want to summon the Fae?

Because the woman I was having lots of sex with wanted me to. I already was summoning my own spirits from my own religion so who was I to discriminate?

Is this a thing now? Summoning from all the cool things you can, you decide fairies.

I think, historically, appeasement would be a more accurate term. People would give them offerings of honey. I don't think anyone would want to summon a fairy let alone do it if you go by the actual folklore. Presumably there was some instances where someone wanted to summon either a good one or an evil one to use against others for evil purposes. I wouldn't know in either case however.

One time that sticks out in my mind is seeing a small good fairy fly around for several days at a certain spot in her house. I didn't think much of it just thinking I was seeing some weird light phenomena. Eventually after a few days I remarked about it and she said it was a fairy and I didn't believe her until she was able to manipulate how it moved and everything. I hadn't ever seen anything like that before. Extremely rarely had I for even a fleeting moment had anything resembling "seeing" a spirit like we see the real world/natural world. So seeing what appeared to be one for several minutes was very unnerving.

This specific fairy could fit in your hand. But it was the only one I ever saw that could. Most could not and were roughly humanoid sized but I extra sensory perceived them as varying in height from 3 feet to 6 feet. By extra sensory I more mean it was like if you imagine or visualize something so intensely that you almost feel as if you can just almost see it, but you also "feel" it in a touch kind of way... it's very hard to really express as it's not a normal experience.

So they are basically emo Marvel fans?

From what I recall they are split into two factions, one that generally wants revenge against humans and wants to kill and/or eat us all. And the other that doesn't.

Like I said though, no idea how much is real folk lore and how much is total fiction.

Have you called upon them.
