How Well Did Jesus Understand God?

Jesus is God so He understands Himself perfectly. Question is, do we understand why Jesus (or Immanuel meaning God with us) came to earth? He came the first time for one reason, to pay the penalty of sin so we do not have to, as a free love gift to us. Jesus understands God, God is love, and Jesus loved us enough to step down from Heaven to die in our place, to give us his righteousness in place of our own, all for us simply trusting that he is powerful enough to do so, for free!

These are good questions. The difficulty answering them though is that there ar a lot of Jesuses. Even if you just limit yourself to the Canonical New Testament, there are at least five different characters by that name created by five or more authors. Some of them have a better understanding than others.
