How You Found RF?

Initially, my partner introduced me to the concept of a religious forum. I was curious as to why he, a non-theist, would regularly participate at another religious forum. But he had once been a theist, and so still felt home there, and pointed out to me that the forum was basically an "everything" forum rather than a religious forum. So I joined (and he eventually lost interest and left the forum, leaving me hanging )

I eventually didn't like it anymore since it had a strong bias towards one specific religion and I never felt at home there at all, so I looked for a more general religious/spiritual/philosophy forum and found this one.

Might that be THC?
Nope. Though I could've been enticed to join as moral support, provided there was rampant nudity, sex, and free cameras offered during all their Woodstock and Lovefest reunion meets. :D

Actually it was Buddhachat.

I was just doing my assignment back then. Got bored so I searched something about "religion". Then I found the keyword "religious forums". Found this site, so I joined.

I hope that wouldn't happen on RF... Not for the next hundred years.

LOL hopefully.

It was a personal decision by the owner/adm who no longer had the time and resources to maintain and manage the domain. He apologized and thanked everyone for all their time spent and the years of effort that it took to make it a success. He even lifted all the imposed bans to give everyone a fair rebuttal and free trolling during the last month of the announced closing date. It actually closed a week later past the date it was due, so we all just kept posting and wondering if it was just a joke until one day, it was gone for good unannounced.

An absolutely perfect send off for a Buddhist Forum methinks. Just like a sand mandala.

I was looking at a bunch of religious sites, one by one, on google. This was one of many I joined. This is the only one I still post at.

I wanted a place to debate religious topics, as that is my main area of study, my passion, my obsession. So I just typed my search criteria into Google, and now here I am.

Well......my mom was on and at 12, you're very curious and there was someone on here I thought was really sweet because he talked to my mom a lot.....so I asked my mom, "Can I join the RF, please?" And she said she'd think about it and she made a thread asking if it'd be okay. And here I am today! :D

Googled it.

Registered and lurked for a bit. And I saw two members right away that caught my attention - Sunstone and katzpur - among others that were able to engage in great dialogue. Great mix of honesty, humor, curiosity, and challenge.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that a lot of the members are easy on the eyes.

I wanted more in depth conversation than I was getting at the message board I've been at for 12 years, it's a forum on the list there... but not what the forum is about.

So I typed in 'spiritual religious forums' and signed up here :)
