I only heard of Howard Zinn in the last year, I heard him mentioned a few times on Democracy Now and then I read Chomsky's essay about Zinn's book "Vietnam: The Logic of Withdrawal".
Do you recommend "A People's History"? The OP Salon.com article was somewhat critical of the book.
I hope you're available to deliver my eulogy when the time comes.Sorry, but I didnt find his work all that enlightening. He tended to overstate the obvious while missing very important things, while purposefully trying to be provocative, IMO. I am sure he was a really nice guy, and I would have liked him had I met him. As it stands, though, hes just another person who was here and now isn't. Im sure somebody who knew him misses him.

In "People's History of America"? You want to elaborate anymore on that? Surely the entire book was not obvious. I mean, he does overstate some points, but it's because he's trying to hint at something! It's not entirely objective, that was the personality in the book!
