But appearances are otherwise.
5 years of investigating.
Only tax evasion & a felony gun charge.
Prosecution evaporates, & probation is all he gets.
Daddy is Prez.
The total picture sounds outside the norm.
Even if it's cromulent, it reinforces the view
that politicians are above the law.
I can't really argue with you. I was just trying to suggest that there are ways to look at things, and that how we look at things informs how we interpret them -- as you've tried to do so many times to me.

Not saying it doesn't happen to me -- much of how I think is informed by what I believe, what I feel, and so on. Is that true for you, too?

A friend was prosecuted for tax evasion.
He served something under a year in a
federal prison. I know his father. He's
not President of anything.

I know someone who was in possession of a gun while drunk(really drunk). He got 60 days in jail. I think the charge was possession of a firearm while under the influence

Many people who illegaly possess a gun are charged.
But if there is anyone out there who ever wasn't
imprisoned for the charge, then this justifies
Hunter getting treated with kid gloves.
IRL I see ordinary folk treated worse, so this
stinks to high Heaven.
And I'm sure that Trump will similarly be feted
& treated in a manner better than you or I
would, had we committed the same crimes.

Trump already has been treated better -- certainly better than Reality Winner was treated, and hers (I think) was a much lesser offense. He gets to keep his passport, and can go where he likes, in his private jet -- a "flight risk" by any standard.

The problem is rich and poor don't get the same sentence.. but should.

Biden never claimed he did no wrong.

His son was an addict, behaving much as all addicts do. It's a very common affliction these days.

Trump's progeny have been bilking anyone and everyone for billions based on their association with their paternal president. What's their excuse? Or is it just greed.

Are your sure?

"“First of all, my son has done nothing wrong,” Biden said in an interview with MSNBC in May. “I trust him. I have faith in him.”

To take that statement as an absolute is just silly. It applies to no one in that context. So the question becomes, what was the actual context? And of course the haters are going to ignore that.

Yep..that statement is vague, confusing and applies to no one. .
